So about plasma turret damage values...
99% of weapons in the game do exactly what they claim on the info stats. The one exception is plasma turrets. For some reason plasma turrets show say 1,500 damage per shot. However when said plasma shots land they do about 10,000-15,000 damage. Now I know the devs borked the stats with some turrets because some of them technically fire two projectiles at once like the plasma turrets yet the info only shows PER SHOT damage, hence you have to double it. But that would still only be 3,000 damage, not 10,000-15,000 damage.

So is this a current bug? Really ♥♥♥♥ poor game info/stats? Devs not knowing how math works? I honestly want to know why plasma turrets are so crazy overpowered currently. As it seems capital and station battles are over in less than 60 seconds even with a dozen+ ships due to the sheer damage of these things.

PS: Completely vanilla and unmodded game.

Isnt it 1500 damage per second? IIRC all damage values shown are time based, not shot based.

Damage should be 2-4k per shot and about 62k DPS for the L turrets. Tbf I cant check ingame, cuz im on RVO mod.

It would make sense if that were the case, but I know for a fact each shot that hits me is doing
well over 10k damage a shot. (I can watch my shield/hull levels as I'm hit by a single station turret.) And L plasma turrets show a fire rate of just 0.62 shots per second. (argon) Meaning they should be doing WAY less than 62k DPS.

PS: Ah, you said DPS but you meant DPM. 62k would be normal then if it's per minute. But the turrets in-game do WAY more damage than that. A single L plasma is currently doing 50k damage to my raptor in just 12 seconds or so.

Yeah its per projectile. The way normal weapons work they don't have multiple barrels minus the gattlings. Its kind of like flack turrets they list at really low values but honestly I kill small fighters much much faster with them then any thing else becuase they fire more then one shot at a time, plus have tiny AOE when close to target.

But to be fair I think at 1.0 it didn't even have stats on them, at least I remeber that being the case making it hard to guess wich ones I should have used on launch.

Also you talking about per turret or in total? Because normally when I am hit by large turrets its the large Pulse, and its more then one at once, those Ks and Is really tear into my sheilds fast with just pulse weapons if I don't snipe the damn things first, but the mediums are complete joke to my sheilds

Well I feel they need to tone down the damage on them considerably. Capital v Capital v Station battles are over really REALLY fast currently. I've seen xenon K's kill argon titans before I could plot a course to the fight. Xenon K's 4 turrets in range (of 6) were doing 20% of the titans health per shot. Not 20% of it's shield... 20% of it's TOTAL health of shield and hull combined. It was dead in less than 10 seconds. Thats not a capital ship battle, that a deathstar laser battle.

Never seen a titan in this game, and L destroyers the Argon have are most meh of the lot. I mean my Odysee with AI captain can take them out. Like serriously they are ok if your fighting weaker things but in a real fleet battle they are just crap compared to others, I seen Pheonixes last longer in fights then them.

There is a reason HOP is super dangours theirs are the more aggressive model of Odysee and its hands down one the most offinsive ships in the game, not K level but man even the rattle snakes that cost a fortune are not as tuff.

Behemoth has 50% more shields than Odyssey, but the latter got like 80% more firepower.

I still find that Rattlesnakes have a lot more firepower than even the Odissey though.

Really? Thats bizarre tho, because the DPS of most turrets is pretty close (only with plasma being the outlier).

But yeah DPS numbers in most games dont combine shot damage and AOE, thatll also change things.

Man I wanna test but as said, Im on VRO. I think that mod specifically set out to make capital ships and even M-class ships much tougher.

I don't got the cash to test just started my second big boy station project after buying my first carrier down to penauts now while I wait for my investment to net me large returns lol
