Any way to provoke a war between factions?
Since there is no diplomacy, is there another way to provoke war between factions? I used a mod where you can increase and decrease relationship between factions with money, but it doesn't allow rep to go pass -15. I don't think the Devs will implement any proper diplomacy at all. Is there another mod that focus strictly on Diplomacy? Maybe the ability to talk to faction rep to convince them to go to war?

I really want to start wars to profit and to cause chaos. Maybe batter each other down so I can establish my influence and power. Basically to try and manipulate the galaxy. It may work out to my liking or backfire.

This is my go to for modded.
I have this mod also. It just randomly changes factions relationships. I want to provoke a war even between 2 factions that are allies with each other. For example; the ARG and the ANT never went to war with each other. Same with the TEL. The main factions that goes to war are the PAR vs HOP, HOP vs ARG/ANT/ and at times TEL, TER vs ANT and at times PIO. I need a mod where I can talk to faction rep to convince them to go to war; even if its against their closest allies.

you sure you just didn't look deep enough
"Adds a diplomacy menu that allows you to purchase relations changes between player faction and AI, or between two AI factions. Occasional free changes are allowed based on how long you have been close allies with a faction"
literally on the mod description and screenshot

In 3.0, Split Vendetta and Cradle of Humanity, we added plots that let you pay a hefty sum of money and resources (ships, wares, etc) to make specific changes to faction diplomacy, like stopping or causing a war, or even merging existing factions into one. All of the outcomes were tested so that they don't immediately break the game's economy.

Some mods give you more access to change faction relations, but at your own peril.

It would be awesome if the faction's relations were a little more dynamic in the vanilla game. I started the paranid "war against all" but without the Xenon around the galaxy just seems dead.

Which plot are these? I really want to manipulate the galaxy and watch my action have consequences for better or worse. Not a one time action that steers the galaxy in a different path permanently.

Here's the plots that have expensive diplomatic decisions attached to them:

Paranid plot (base game): unlock the research feature on your HQ and complete the Hatikvah plot, which can be started from the Mission Offers menu when you're close to the Hatikvah's Choice sector. Then wait a bit until an important NPC tells you about the plot.

Split plot (Split Vendetta): same as above.

Covert Operations (Cradle of Humanity): complete the Defenders of Sol plot, which can be started after reaching +5 relations with the Terran Protectorate and having visited the Sol system or Getsu Fune. Then talk to Delilah Shiratori, who will ask you to complete the Hatikvah plot as well. If you've started as the Terran Cadet, you'll have to complete another short mission chain inbetween.

One can also edit their savegame file. Open it up in notepad++ and there's a section for faction relations with one another. Just set the value to -1 for both sides you want to see go to war.

Are you one of the developers for this game? If so, I want to tell you how much I love this game. It's truly amazing. I'm sure you can tell by all my questions I'm a newer player.

There are number of ways.
The easiest and most predictable was join a war campaign.
Then there are the Xenon cleansing which can lead to un-predictable hostilities in between factions.
Even player ship sales and ship building commodities imbalance can also affect the equilibrium.

He is indeed. The team that makes this game is rather small and most of them really do read all of our posts here. A lot of them just don't speak. . . they lurk in the background. There's also an official forum on the egosoft website but you don't want to go there. Tis a vile and wicked place ran by people with extreme "little man syndrome". These forums are much better.
