My station construction seems stuck
So I've got all the needed resources, my construction ship is assigned, it has construction drones, AND like 30 of them are supposedly active.

It doesn't have any progress on any modules. Any idea what it could be? The "Removed Modules" is a protein shake paste producer that I don't recall asking to be removed, and I can't seem to get any progress there either.

Update: Moving the entire station in the plan build screen and then cancelling it seems to have jumpstarted it again. Progress is moving forward.

EDIT: I take it back, I went back to check on the station, and its stuck again, same place it was before.

32 active building drones. Kek... Everywhere written 30 drones active are maximum.

see my post some time ago, sometimes when you open a build it can mistake it for another station, and you see the build queue showing deletion of everything and build of other modules.
you need to cancel out without saving, and reselect / go back in.
always check the build queue carefully when going into a build. cancel if you see a strange queue.
Can only imagine it hasn't cleared a previous station you looked at from the cache, and tries to implement it in the next plot.
I think it is a bug, but it has been there for a while.
edit
I take it the 30 drones is due to a small module being built. If you have more it will use them later on...(I think)

Sorry, not sure I understand. What steps should I try and take?

I don't have any other stations building right now, certainly none with any protein pastes. Also, I tried the move-the-station-then-cancel bit and it didnt work again :(

I've just noticed that the protein paste production facility it wants to delete no longer exists. I cant select it to highlight it, and all planned protein facilities are still there in the green queue, unbuilt.

Update: So it worked after i rotated the thing and cancelled a few times. I'm watching it count down to delete the nonexistent protein factory again. When it got to zero, it failed to start building the next part, then put up another phantom protein factory to take apart again: https://i.postimg.cc/HLj3vBV1/x4-03.png

However, I got rid of all the planned protein producers on the factory. That immediately prompted the deconstruction of the invisible protein plant. Hopefully it won't start up again. I also noted that the protein modules seemed to be clipped well into other modules, some of which had been built. Wonder if it didn't like that. I'll update again.

Edit: Nope, now it's doing it to the next type of building in line, the medical plants. https://i.postimg.cc/Sx1f9CVT/x4-04.png

Gonna reboot it. If that doesn't work I'll cancel everything on the station and reload from the saved blueprint.

I think something about the build itself was cursed. I got rid of everything and tried to reload the saved layout, but it wouldn't let me. Hitting confirm changes resulting in nothing being applied.

BUT, it is letting be build it out again from scratch. If I had to guess, it was the protein things that ended up clipped through multiple Terran L habitats.

If it lets me rebuild the thing again and builds it, I'll advise.

There was a change, I think in 5.0 about clipping. Before the change modules could clip each other, now the default is not allowed to clip. If you had a plan saved from before where modules clipped it may be a problem. The clipping on / off is a game setting.
The issue I mentioned was about the game mistakenly having sometimes a completely different planned station on the plot. cured by not saving and going out and back in.

Are you sure the plot size is big enough x/-x y/-y etc.

indeed, the clipping thing came with 5.0 and a nasty bug that sometimes selects the wrong station in the build editor.

trooperrob already mentioned that its best to trippe check if the correct station is shown in the editor and if not to simply exit (multiple hits of the DEL key suffice) out of the wrong build.

i am not aware of a reliable repro of this nasty issue... but there should be someone on the case already.
I could probably reproduce it by putting a station together the same way. That was definitely it by the by, I rebuilt it spaced out a bit more with no clipping, and no problem. It was referencing the correct station and all that from what I could tell.
Side Note: It refuses to build my 8M landing pad anything but upside down. Even when I delete the thing and build it anew, making sure it is right side up, it builds it upside down.

Like the thing still docks ships, but its weird lol.
