Ship construction question
So I note that to build a ship I generally need like, just hull parts and weapon components.

Having trouble finding more info. If I want to outfit the thing with shields and turrets and stuff, do I need additional wares? Shield components, engines and the like? If so, are there any resources anywhere on how much I'd need?

if you are buying the ship at a shipyard or warf and you have the outfit you want, you can expand each component listed on the right side to see what resources each component requires, you can also go into your encyclopedia in game and see the resources required for specific components that way.
There are several production methods in game so some components may differ on whats required based on whos building them or if your buildding them and what you have your production method set to.
Normal production method will typically require weapon components for weapons, turret components for turrets, shield components for shields ect ect
closed loop method which the VIg/riptide factions use just require claytronics, energy cells and hull parts, and if its terran based, the 3 main resources from terran manfacturing only.

If your queing several ships up at a shipyard/warf you dont own, it will tell you as well what resources its missing to build the listed ships.

Awesome, thanks! I need to get used to checking the encyclopedia more.
Game lacks of overal estimate to build a ship. Currently only 2 ways I know to get that estimate: 1) Calculate wares requirement per each component, 2) (if player shipyard in place) Wipe out whole stock and check what station short on to construct a ship.
Both barely a solution.

Imagine giving players a tool to deal with this. But no, we can't even see where we have to go for a mission. I guess all their energy went into the boarding menu and then they were like: 'Ok, that's enough for the next five years'.

It would be kinda nice if that 'compare ships' feature in the encyclopedia section included the total wares required for the ship's loadout, though those would change a bit depending on your build method (universal/terran/closed-loop).

Admittedly, in the end I don't really budget down to the individual wares. I just click and wait. :lunar2019laughingpig:

Lol wut? Since when did they remove the mission location guide that is literally in every single mission in the game? (They didn't, it's still there, literally every mission tells you exactly where to go.)

Not while you're at station.

Yes definitely while you're at a station, orange line on the ground if you're at the mission station. If not, hop on a pilot's seat. It's not that hard buddy this is something that Egosoft got right.

Yes, AFTER you accept them, just like you're given the details of any mission only after accepting it.
