Station under construction seems to have lost my build?
Anyone ever experience this? I typically build a station like this. I put down a dock. Then I hit Confirm. Then I add container storage and an Energy Cell production. Then I hit Confirm. Then I add other storage. Again Confirm. Then other production modules. What this does is it builds those things in that order, one group at a time. Also let's me add a Manager right after the dock is built.

Well this time it just seems to have stopped after the dock. The builder has left. Nothing else shows up in Plan Build. However, the entire set of wares is sitting in the Build Storage for the next set of modules. I've got a ton of Hull Parts, Energy Cells and Claytronics ready to go.

Is it just not showing my next build stuff or has it really cancelled and I need to do it again (the reason I'm concerned is that if I rebuild everything and all that other stuff is still in queue, it will build the entirety of it, then disassemble it, then build it again, taking forever and far more resources).

Very confused.

I have noticed this, tho more with larger stations that already have many many parts.
At first i thought i had forgotten to confirm the build changes. but after re-adding the missing modules the resources on hand and Needed match exactly. so i know the parts were delivered and the build was canceled at some point after.
not every station or every upgrade. just often enough to notice.

I wonder if it happened when I added the manager?

Have encountered this bug afew times if its the same bug im thinking of, i think theres afew posts around here of stuff getting eaten or vanishing from stations under construction, i have had several stations lose vasts amount of progress due to this.
From my experence, its gone, you need to rebuild, but you should have allot of the materials from past stuff in your build storage as any moduals u had built prior that are gone should have given you the deconstruction return on them.
https://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=447286 any of this sound familear?
I had something similar happen with my PHQ afew weeks back, it seemed after a certain point everything that i had built in the last setup had disappeared, was missing huge gaps in my station and had to rebuild.
the post from here that was also discussing similar things. originally thought it was seta https://steamcommunity.com/app/392160/discussions/0/3278066986681375147/

Cool thanks, I added my concerns to that first thread. My two issues were 1) it may have been the addition of the manager which was at the same time this happened, maybe a cause? and 2) I lost all the money for the complete build.

The second issue who knows. I never touch SETA. I research it just because I'm a completist but it is buggy af and was never needed in X4 anyway.

ya the 2nd post originally started as an assumption it was SETA but later people who never touch seta were experencing it, has some useful information in the topic was why i posted, specificly how some people replicated the bug but not sure if it was the exact same bug but does seem similar

Not certain if it's the same as what I've encountered, but I've had something like this a couple times and I think it was due to accidentally/deliberately adjusting an already placed module.

This happened on stations where I got everything done, and then noticed that there was something I didn't like about the build. I tried to pick-move-return the module sequences in the order I wanted, changed out a connecting sub-module, whatever, but sometimes the sequences would only get partially selected/affected and I'd end up doing it piece meal.

I think if you happen to modify one (deliberately or accidentally) that screws up the build order in some certain way it causes this error (I have no idea what the error is), and it'll dump everything after that point.

On a side note, I sorta get around this by saving a copy of the final builds of my stations, and if it dumps, I can reload the template and every unbuilt module is filled in. I can then try to figure out which part of the build it dumped at and redo that portion. Unfortunately, this can introduce more dump bugs from my experience. I think I went through that maybe four or five times with the From The Ashes shipyard :bonehead:

Yes, in fact i had this problem few days ago (had a thread about it, "Station Editor Grid Lock"). There were two different attempts to explain it posted, let me just copy them:

There is a bug that if you go into design a station, sometimes it has the design of another station.

Check the module contruction list EVERY time you go into station build. (usually a quick glance will be enough to see if you need another look.

IF the build queue is wrong, then exit out, and say don't save any changes, when you go back in the build queue should be what it was originally. (even if it was still building lots of modules).

If you fail to notice this, you may find it applying (I think) the build plan of a previous station.

I think it is caused by selecting 2 stations in a short time span, and not clearing the memory properly. I have put it on the egosoft board, but didn't see acknowledgement of the issue.

Just don't click confirm changes without being very sure.

It seems like you are trying to build some modules outside of the station boundaries.
I had the same experience some months ago until I noticed that was the issue.

I had some modules being flipped over, and I eventually found out that I was either too close to the edge of the station or another module, even with clipping allowed.

And when I had issues unrelated to this, reverting the last module and confirming change would solve 90% of my problems.

Can't say anything about the manager tho...

i just got it fixed (not)! - edit: after some components it happened again

have to wait until my headquarter overhaul is done but for now i got it fixed

not confirmed but maybe a way you can try - savegame is the keyword

1. find (if possible) the part of the station thats the problem at some point of contruction there will be a problem and the game asks you to confirm changes - whatever you are doing the contruction will stop and you lost your plan - now load a savegame and find the problem (in my example it was 1 of 3 vertical connections - i deleted all 3 and some other connections before the next different component - scrap processor)

2. now when the contruction come to that point it will ask again to confirm or abort changes - i only confirmed changes yet - then my contrution deleted an invisible connection (probably somewhere inside another component - did some clipping mistakes the day before i got it fixed) after decontrution of the invisible connection the plan was intact and the builder ship continued with work - waiting now for more problems but hopeful

I fixed it by unassigned builder. It happens sometimes if during the building some construction is going on.
_Jarvis/Tatze Sep 30, 2022 @ 11:42am
saving changes doesn't fix it ... wtf? seems like you dont even know the problem - but you really want to add your two cents - people -.- what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Auftragsmoerder Sep 30, 2022 @ 2:20pm
Saving did indeed not overly help with that problem.

Yes, with a saved plan you could easily undo the deleting. But the build kept being deleted, meaning you have to repeat the loading of the plan often while still having nothing built at all...

There are just sometimes bugs in some parts. Find and replace them and you might get rid of it if lucky. I found my problem fixed after watching carefully not to overstep boundaries while also replacing some other parts - meaning i cannot tell for sure how to fix. But it might improve your chances.

in my sector it could be the neutral minefield blocking the buildingarea at some spots ... who knows i will check that later

Wait lol, they haven't fixed this bug introduced with 5.x yet!??!

nope.. there was a promising person in the official topic, with a promising save... and they overwrote it.

i can only ask again.. if anyone has such a save and a way to reliably reproduce it... CBJ and the others are eager to get their hands on the repro case and savegame.

i won't even send who ever can reliably reproduce the problem into the official by now... all i need are the repro steps, the save and i will happily copy'paste it into the topic... not having an official account should not be the barrier.

Want save files for every bug? Remove the 10 save limit. I always save my games when I run into something weird but because I can only save 10 games at a time they eventually get overwritten. Let me manage my own save files and the amount of space they take up :) I'll send you a save file for every bug I encounter! STOP BABYSITTING ME! ;P

(As babysitters go, eMYNOCK is my favorite).
