Xenon still unstoppable in 5.0
I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of playing this game only because of the Xenon. I played it for 174 hours now, 3 games and not once someone was able to stop the Xenon in any way. A single Xenon fleet of an I and 2 K's (1 K and 1 Q because I use the XRebirth ships mod) always reduces a factions military fleet to 0.... I haven't found anyone who managed to destroy Xenon Battleships except space stations... I just tried to help an Arawn fighting an I while I was piloting an Osaka and the Arawn got destroyed before the I's shield were down... Either the big Xenon guns are just way to overpowered with superior range and damage or the shields because it takes so long to get them down. Would be really great if someone could finally make them balanced

good, the game would be boring without an existential threat. sounds like you just want a sandbox mode where you can build and do stuff with no challenge
no, but it shouldn't be a part of the game that the player is the savior of the universe because everyone is completely useless when for example you just want to mind your're just a little guy, minding his own buisness or play as pirate or something...

and also as a noob who just build his first factory and makes 1 mil in 30min-1h it's not nice to see something slowly coming too you, destroying everything faster than anyone can rebuild

I am not sure if it's the XR ship pack mod or not. The Xenon are very aggressive in my unmodded playthroughs so far (11-12 hours in they really start invading sectors aggressively), but the commonwealth ships do attempt to slow them down quite a lot.

Don't forget that X4 is a real economy while previous games were not. If the Rebirth mod causes the new ships to be too expensive or too inefficient, then you're complaining about a mod, not the game.

Edit: In my 5.10 vanilla game, the commonwealth were banding together top right in Matrix #451 (Free Families territory) just mere hours in the universe. Sure, Xenon were fighting back in Hatikvah's Choice I, but the commonwealth are holding them so far. I started as Terran and barely got traders starting to help with Commonwealth economy.

Even then they should have no problems fighting them off with the vanilla ships... The ARG shipyard always have enough resources to build L class ships thx to me now but it's rare seeing them building anything.

I agree that the Xenon are way, way too powerful. In order to keep any sort of balance, I occasionally have to employ a cheat command, going sector to sector deleting tons of Xenon stations and capital ships. Before long, it's all rebuilt.

Also Xenon L turrets are strong but their range is weak as F in vanilla.

Since you have an Arawn It might be more of a mod thing if the mod gave Xenon longer shooting weapons

That's always the fun part... I see all the "pls buff Xenon" threads which confuses the hell out of me after my experience.

No, they just added new ships, didn't edit any weapons... Could be possible that the AI was just too dumb again to get in range and shoot the I. At least he was shooting a hefty amount of missiles.

Pretty sure I'll find enough posts saying how week they are. X4 has a dynamic system and many things go into it to define how a game session goes. Even using the seed on two systems will eventually result in different universes, more so if player actively impacts the game.

Given that the deadly Xenon has a range of a measly 5.2 km
While Plasma the player equivalent has a range of 8.6 km

With a few Destroyers armed with plasma that is not the rattlesnake you should be able to wipe the floor with most of the Xenon capital ships.

I recommend you look at
Range² (km) and Lock Range to find the range that AI will use the missile.
Some missile can easily pull them into range of the enemy.

where does it throw off balance when it just adds a few more ships to the game... The xenon only get 1 new ship! Also I use the Faction Enhancer mods which should "buff" the other factions or at least makes the AI more efficient but there is no really difference

For the love of jesus the xenon are now the best they have ever been.

Without them the combat element ceases to exist?

Try this mod that removes them from the game and you will see what i mean...

No xenon.

You know... the Xenon are a faction, too. If you have a mod that enhances them, maybe disable that?

I have only one mod that buffs the already oversimplefied Xenon economy in some way, maybe I should disable it and see how it is going then...

Yes.

Edit: Are you sure the Faction enhancer does not effect the Xenon? I just read the description and there is no distinction between commonwealth and xenon in there so I believe that mod also affects them.
