and open space between the systems....
makes no sense to me to do nothing with the borons in endgame....
1. Borons must come back in the x Universe !
2. A civilian economy that doesn't rely on war and ship replacement, maybe something like the workforce but more fleshed out, would help to improve production or give other bonuses.
3. More ships ! more interiors, more diverse interiors for factions, more story etc...
But to your question what I wish: I hope better scripts (AI) to make the universe more atmospheric. A better and comfortable gameplay to play X like a real economy simulation, think the grafics and combats are really nice atm.
I dont want to repeat or blame the AI and your possabilities with the control of fleets again. That should be focused in my eyes.
I really hope they are working on new X rather than expansion. With all the DLCs i think the universe is already big enough. Making it bigger will only impact late game performance.
I personally want to see more activities on stations. Also as Vali mentioned better AI.
The gate network we have access to in X games is only a fraction of what it is. The Ancients have quarantined humanity and every species they encountered as the Xenons are too much of a threat to the universe.
Now we know from financial documents that egosoft is working on something that is on a bigger scale that the previous expansions. We do not know if it's X5, X4 Refoundation (the way we had X3R, X3TC and X3AP before Rebirth) or something else entirely.
Now, to answer the OP. I'd want:
The removal of mini-games or at least an option to completly ignore them. As far as I'm concerned they're ruining the fun and the immersion. At least a combination of mods and an autohotkey scripts allowed me to ignore most of them in X4 but I shouldn't have to rely on mods and a third party software to ignore that crap.
Revamped GUI. I'm not expecting a miracle from Egosoft but I'd like for them to remember the basic: Don't try to reinvent the wheel. As proud as they are of the map (and I'll admit it's a powerful tool), trying to shove absolutly every interaction through the map was a bad decision.
The ability to interact with the various station NPCs while still in my ship. Immersion is nice and all but sometimes I just want efficiency.
The ability to skip dialogues.
There's probably more.
also just being able to see potential recruits from the info panel of a station when docked, maybe a personnell tab for recruiting, again so i dont have to spend 15 min running around the entire station looking for hires (maybe some rare hires sure but if people lookin for work it would be nice to have a job board)
I would like the background simulation to be separated from the whole map into Pockets.
When you open the map without pause, the simulation continues but you can still give orders to your stations and ships.
If you want to observe what is going on, then you can load into only one or more adjacent Sector Analysis Overlay and see the icons of ships moving about. Giving you real time data of only those sectors.
The engine can be programmed to unload and load sector simulations as you pan around and zoom in and out of the map. This will help performance, if possible to implement, allowing us to manage large empires from the map while maintaining good fps.
During battles, a similar thing happens, you only simulate the update of moving ships in the sector where the battle is taking place, maybe by being zoomed in at the right level of sector analysis.
Whatever they are working on, I look forward to immersing myself into for thousands of hours.
2. Jump drives
3. The Xenon Hub, but with a much more robust storyline.
Less awful station attacking behavior
2. New xenon battleships, requiring not one Asgard to defeat
3. More sectors with unique mechanics like Avarice
4. Fleet AI, UI ( i still cant figure out how to select different type of missles on XL, L ships)
5. Upgrades on performance side
6. Lottery like in X2(x3)
7. Old ATF ships (Tir, Valhalla)
