You can repair fully destroyed Engines with your Spacesuit Repair Beam.
First the onboard repair cycle has to bring the element online again than you can repair it.
So basically what you're saying is that you are agreeing with me. But you've got some confusing language. You're saying you can repair fully destroyed Engines. Then you say you can't until the onboard repair cycle has brought the element online again, ie, not fully destroyed. So basically you cannot repair fully destroyed engines, they have to be repaired 1% so they can be targetted first.
He has no idea what he is talking about. English is most likely not his first language. It has to pop up repaired at 1% before you can start repairing it. If you can give it drones it can repair faster. If you have a fleet tender it can also repair capitals out in the field and uses the repair drones on the supply ship.
Just transfer a few or 10 over and they will fix everything while the ship heads to a shipyard.
The only thing drones won’t fix is the hull, you need crew for that, but it’s really slow and maxes at 90%
What?
My reply is essentially the OP with all speculation stripped away.
