Xenon are the primary force for destruction.
Destruction drives the Economy.
Killing the Xenon would result in a mostly dead Game.
not realy...
you can still strengthen ZYA so they focus more on war against other factions like ARG.
you can start a war between ARG and TER.
And you can unite the Paranids and make them go full force war against everyone.
Economy is very much still alive after erasing the xenon... you just have to complete some plots to start a universewar.
Now I play for story.
The ZYA vs. ARG War to actually proper escalate needs certain Key sectors to flip to either ARG or ZYA control yet they wont be contested as the original owner are none hostile to both.
The TER vs. ARG conflict is campaign related and even if triggered is only a minor conflict as the Argon usually make no dent into the Terran defenses.
Yes, The Realm of the Trinity is the only Real contender yet to have them go Total War on all other factions Several map conditions have to be met before hand that are not natural so again considering that this is again a campaign outcome unlikely.
For all of those scenarios to proper blowup some intense landscaping is necessary that usually Xenon perform, not to forget maybe the OP decided help the Curb Cabal into power, or followed orders and pitted ANT against ARG or what if the call of the Duke was so strong so helped form the Tempest?
So No under normal circumstances purging the Xenon is not a healthy move.
I am almost endgame. I do have some plots left i wanna do...one of them (Yaki) was also suggesting to me cleaning some Sectors around them so i thought about going full war. already cleard 50% Xenon Sectors..and HOP already cleaned they´re Xenon themself ROFL.
My Races like ARG/TER/TEL/PAR always going into war so never gonna get economic problems :D but i think if the xenon die, the Terrans might start an universe war maybe. They already are very Far from they´re Home Sectors when i fly though the universe and they are always killing the Xenon in the way of them... Osaka and Asgard can even fight pretty good against Defence Stations.. noone was hit and they hit hard. lol
For Now i really think about freeing some ZYA Sectors they´re completly gone and help the Yaki a bit by cleaning they´re on the way as well.
I thought The Same.
After The Xenon are gone and i have completed all Plots i can finally move onto next Game.
i only have Tons left to Play after x4f
Edit;
X4F by now Took me over 300 hours of Playtime and Got with it into Second place after Killing Floor 2 with around nearly 600 hours. I am impressed by x4f for this, i already Play for 6 weeks.
Most Games do Not even need a week to be completed.
Far Cry 5 Took me about a week in Coop and its world was Big Like x4f was but didnt Had to offer this much sadly. (I found that world sadly empty)
what is great with xenons is that they are well spread out and will cause destruction in several places around the universe and they also rebuild their ships way faster than the regular factions so they can come back again and again and ultimately take out a station etc... Which will consume a lot of ressources to build it.
If you remove the xenons the regular factions will focus more on invading each other as they will no longer loose ships to xenons, antigonids will have 2 contact points with Holy order. I don't like the realm of trinity because they are too strong to go at war with teladi or argons and too far away to go at war with everyone.
Tempest on the other side, if you fuel their shipyard they will be a very strong faction and cause havoc to all their ennemies.
Same for terran conflict, it can take some time to blow up but once it does they usually push into second contact and then have to face both argons and antigonids which will result in lots of losses to both sides...
My only issue is curbs and Zya not really fighting unless you can remove the Teladi and make them border each other.
Teladi will fullfill their normal role, they have the most sector and usually the strongest economy so they will help fuel all the shipyards.
Now keep in mind this game is not meant to have one super strong faction, even if they can wipe each other out doesn't mean the game is designed around, it doesn't seem like the factions will build more ships and stations the more sectors they have, in my ZYA only game they pushed far in argon place and then they lost ground simply because they had too many sectors and were not building much stations or more military.
Now I use mods and it's even greater !
If you dominate the galaxy, is finally peace.
