Ship "planner"

There are a LOT of options to choose from here when it comes to building ships. One problem I'm having is everything isn't exactly straightforward. At least not to someone who hasn't been playing for a while.

Does anyone know of a resource out there to help with planning a build? Like, what ship is best for X role, what turrets are best at swatting the gnats, and what cannons are best for punching holes in stations from across the map, etc?
