Their two ships are now randomly patrolling sectors, and I haven't heard anything about any further missions.
.... really I just wanted to disassemble the Exceptional mod on the Raven & use that to upgrade my personal corvette...
Edit: Oh yeah, Mellerd does come back to harass you in a destroyer with a few smaller ships, later on entering Eighteen Billion or Grand Exchange. I just ignored them and flew by. I did see them hang around for a bit but I can't seem to find them now on the map, has been several hours though.
I too took Maestro's 'Arcadian' in the Mellard-branch. But the ship got destroyed within aprox 10 minutes. I think it was a scripted despawn or cleanup. Selling the equipement gave me a nice starting cash, though - and a good 4*-captain and some experienced service crew.
(Of course, I went with Maestro in my real playthrough to keep the Raven as a trophy.)
Claiming the Arcadian, most of the crew was still on there for me for some reason, I was able to talk to Maestro and he had some dialog for me about betraying him. I was curious if you could keep the Arcadian if you stayed on it, like maybe it only despawns if you leave the system, but no it literally just detonates after a few minutes and will kill you if you are still on board.
only option is to sell it i guess :(
for siding with maestro, you get the prototype min ship, included a research option for personal massproduction.
siding with min, you get a falcon fighter with 2 muon loader guns. plus a bit rep.
you are not allowed to keep the prototype
so the blueprints , and maybe a steam achievement (you gotta google if there is one on your own) are the only priceless items in this bargain, side with maestro
