There is also a new exceptional ship mod that gives a random resistance to the tide. Depending on the results, you could make some smaller ships immune to the tide. Do your ship mod research at the PHQ, collect/buy mats, and make them mods!
it not random it 100-100 for exceptional lol

Would be interested in seeing an answer to the OP's question, are there any ships that can survive it? So far I've mostly avoided the system.

Alligator (Gas) miner with maxed TER shields - Does not survive
Mammoth, Sonra with maxed TER shields - Survive with no hull damage (took around 25% shield damage)
Unshielded station - Survive with 75% HP remaining (which 15 repair drones repaired before the next tide)

perfect.. took 2 pages to get the answere i was after :) tnx
You can also mod the Hulls to take less dmg from zones that have enviro effects. A T3 mod will give you a free pass and they can continue working. Kinda nice seeing as they'll snap up those that died to the tide 1st before the NPC faction ships head back into system. :)

I've got a mod installed that increases stats so wasn't sure if the 100% - 100% was because of it. I haven't been able to built any of those T3 Tide resistance mods yet* but they are a top priority for tugs, miners, and traders. Tide? what Tide?

I managed to build a T3 mod to increase forward thrust and slapped that on my brick of a battleship. The mod also bumped up roll, yaw, pitch, and strafe so the battleship is now a bit more agile as well as almost double its original speed (still under 100 though).

Its super easy to cap all the ships you want when they are parked just outside Avarice with the "flee" command keeping them in place...
The larger the ship, the more chances it will survive the tide. L & XL will usually survive it without any issues. Stations survive it too.

On small ships dedicated for those sectors (i.e. two Astrids) I put an exceptional mode that completely protects them from the tide, 100%.
