No debate to be had. YOU advertised a casino. We play through the game and and IN GAME voice ADVERTISES that we can win big!
This should of never been in the game if you never had the intention on implementing mini games.
Again, your 1951 law has nothing to do with this mechanic in the game.
I can't do anything but be disappointed and say shame on you devs.
I will still play your games because I enjoy them, but you messed up on this one.
I understand that you may be under some laws but WHY did you do this castrated version of a casino then when you could have made any other space facility?
eMYNOCK's explanation honestly just made it worse. Guys, don't call it a casino please. Call it a space bar, whatever...
You don't understand how laws work.
There are laws that are from 18XX that were written for horse drawn carts and are applied to cars today. You don't just rework laws constantly, just because someone invented something new.
In german law this is called "Teleologische Reduktion" which basically translates to "teleological reduction" and is a way to determine if a law is applicable by understanding what the reason behind the law is and not what the wording is.
So you can easily see how stuff pre-computer era can be applied to the digital environment.
I know how laws work. Your point is invalid to the topic. Bring me something substantial that can actually be used in a court of law instead of your drivel.
Oh master of understanding how laws work, don't argue with me but with the Bundesverfassungsgericht and their drivel:
BVerfG ZIP 93, 843.
Ahh, a troll I see. Enjoy talking to yourself.
As far as the game goes, I never complained about the horrible optimization, the less than desired AI and the overall pain of the quest system, I always found fun in X games.
But this action is just ignorant to the point where it tips me over to the negative feeling of X games.
Even if it was against the law, which it isn't. but even IF it was, they should of never added a casino that we cannot play in.
In plain English, it's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid and annoying.
A very mature behaviour to block a discussion as soon as you see that you are wrong.
I tell you how German law is being applied and you just say "nah it isn't like this", without providing any argument. You just disagree and think this makes it right.
I would love for you to prove me wrong, as you yourself claimed to understand how law works. Maybe my usage of the teleological reduction was misplaced here? I don't seen how but you could start arguing the points I make instead of just being angry.
If you know you can't put a functional casino in the game... Why put a casino at all?
And why advertise the potential gains from it IN the game?
What's next?
Do you plan to give us ships we can't fly?
(Yeah, I'm pushing it, but I'm kinda bored and definitely disappointed.)
So your big problem is that the new module (which you get as free addition to the game) is called a casino and you can´t play minigames in it?
Even after eMYNOCK gave you a valid reason for it being that way you just dismiss him because of your high horse. Even if the answer would have been "it is what it is, so suck it up" it would have been a better point than what you are trying to say.
You get something FOR FREE and complain that it is not what you expect? How delusional can you be?
If you want minigames so bad, mod them in since you have a good platform to use in the new casino module...
I seem to remember a vague version of one
Do you really want to force me to copy the Law Text in here for everyone to read, is it that?
I know too well that there are different Laws regarding Gambling in other Countries... this still does not changes the Fact that it is forbidden to promote any kind of Gambling, in any form of Media, to anyone below the age of 18.
Allowing anyone to Gamble would result in the mentioned change of the Age Rating from USK12 to USK18.
@McMuffin
I do not know if the OP refers to the Wellfare Modules or the Aurora Casino in Windfall... in wich case they paid for the DLC.
Still does not changes anything though.
Ok, good point but since it is not mentioned on the store page I thought you get both.
But like you said, nothing changes in the end.
Now that would be something to think about as lawmakers, make laws for just a very specific game DLC, and now I am going to stay quite or my colleagues that do write law proposals here are going to kill me, even though it is the department of education :D
Don't worry buddy these people are simple gamers with no knowledge about laws, restrictions and contract etc.
I remember the time in Dune 2 or Command & Conquer where blood was forced to be green in Germany and those killed were robots and not humans.
There is a system called USK in Germany which regulates which games can be sold to young people of certain ages. Games can not legally be sold to people who are younger then the respective USK age rating of the game. The ratings go like this 0, 6, 12, 16, 18. If you now ad gambling of any kind to the game Egosoft would have to Increase their rating. Which then means that less people have access to it = no profitssss
