You're missing the point me thinks. They advertised a CASINO, of COURSE there will be gambling!
And there is no law in any country against betting non-real currency in a game as long as it doesn't touch actual currency (like lock boxes for example), saying that is absurd.
https://www.lawyer-monthly.com/2018/02/10-countries-where-gambling-is-completely-illegal/
As a veteran player of the series I am extremely disappointed that the casino is just basically a buff for increasing workforce growth and not a passive source of income which can be added to station or used by the player to make some money to help start them out.
For anyone who does not knows, Egosoft is a German Company, lies within Germany and has, in conclusion, abide to German Laws.
Nowhere in that article you posted proves that in game gambling is illegal.
Please do not waste my time with ignorance and useless links.
Sorry, but I disagree. There is no German law restricting this mechanic in your game as long as we, the customer, do not using real life currency.
I love your games, but you are simply wrong in this regard and you should of not added a casino in your game that does not allow us to play mini games and you know it.
I don't need to.
You could of implemented a mechanic that would allow us to 'spin a wheel' daily for potential prizes without any gambling interaction (i.e. GT5).
There are many different ways you could of implemented mini games that do not break any laws, but you didn't. You added a casino in game and even put in the work to advertise it IN GAME, yet give us no interaction with this structure.
It simply ignorant and annoys me as a long term customer.
Link me the law that states this. It can be in any language.
The law you speak of was passed in 1951 and has no merit in the digital realm.
Would a symbolic 0,5€ DLC be a possibility to circumvent and implement this?
This is basically what Creative Assembly does with their "Blood and Gore DLC" (well, they actually charge more which I think is absurdily high).
For example: Total War: Three Kingdoms is rated for 12 but their DLC with the blood effects is rated for 16.
So the idea is to add a 0,5€ (or 0,1€, or 1€, whatever arbitrary price of your choosing), DLC to add the gambling mechanic.
Apparently not... sad.
all other ways would require a change of the Age Rating.
this is not up to debate, i don't make the Laws.
how ever, i wish you good luck convincing my government to change them... some of them are medieval.
