Tides of Avarice - Being a scrapper

Hello, i'm trying to play as a scrapper in the new DLC, but there is no scavenger tutorial i can find so i'm asking here
How to be a scrapper ?

I bought the new ship Manticor, and equipped it with 3 scrap tractors, and now I can tow M size ships (Select the carcass you want to tow, right click then click "Tow") and then bring the carcass to a scavenger station where when i'm close enough the station buy it i just have to press F. That part is okay

But every wreck I see in the system is too large to be towed by my manticore (L and XL size), and I see all NPC manticore make these scrap cubes, with the same exact ship as me, but I don't know how they do it

So basically, how to make those scrap cubes ?

Hi, to scrap larger ships you need a specific L Ship called Teuta (Class Compactor). That will recycle the large wreckages and poops out those cubes for the Manticores

So the Manticor is really a tower and the L Teuta is the true scrapper ship

Yes the Manticore is Tug (as it says when you buy it), you should though be able to find plenty of S/M sized wrecks around and also cubes to tow.

can the manticores tug to non-owned stations to sell wrecks or do we need our own stations to handle scavenging

was hoping to send a tug out to drag the stuff to sell

I don't know how the Compactor works manually yet, but to automate it you need a two star pilot, and the Compactor needs build drones. Then you can set up a behavior for auto salvage and it'll begin seeking out and breaking apart L, XL, and Station wrecks into Scrap Cubes for towing.

If you want to automate Salvaging you set up a Manticore just like a Autominer, just select Autosalvage instead of Automine.

so a manitcore can handle salvage on its own to sell? ie like a auto miner or does it need more support

Yah if it not a large wreck your manticore can tug wreckage back to the station

'the station' what station? does it randomly pick or does it have to be on you own?

Im at war with the Paranid and they keep trying to escape their containment sectors haha

So buying the Manticore (tug) without owning a Teuta (scrapper) it's pointless?

M size combat ships seem to be worth the most out of m ships. Xenon p are good for scrap. M size combat ships with a fighter docked on them are good also.

You don't need a Teuta.

NPC Teuta will produce scrap for you. You just need to find them.

i do not know what would stop you from picking up cubes from a random Teuta... they just make Cubes for literally anyone to get them.

with your own teuta how ever you could decide to scrap larger wrecks in other areas...

The station is my station with a scrap processor and the scrap drop off module

Manticore tug the smaller wreckage toward it for processing into hull part or Claytronic
