a) tilt the map so you can see the Z axis, and
b) select the icon for the "Fly To" command and move it up or down on the Z axis
so you can position the destination (i.e. adjust the course vector) exactly where you want it.
This is incorrect.
All you have to do is this:
1) Open the Map
2) Click on the ship you wish to order
3) Hold down the CTRL key, and you will see your cursor change to the downward arrows icon
4) With the CTRL key still held, Right click on each point in the course you wish to plan, in order. Each such click will automatically queue a "Fly to" order.
You do _not_ have to click and select "Fly to" for every single point. CTRL+Rightclick is all you need. Sure you can do it that way, but this way requires half as many clicks, making it twice as fast, which is important for larger ship rosters and complex courses.
