How to destroy Kha'ak station
Hello,

Is there an efficient way to destroy Kha'ak stations?
I have sent a sin+osaka to attack but is looks like they are just turning around for hours without actullay destroying the installation
Even when I try to take command, turrent shoot randomly and are basically useless

Try different angles by moving the ship to where the turret will hit it better.

All the holes in the Kha'ak station doesn't do well for AI logic.

here what I do when in command.
set L turrets to shoot at my target.
Select a module the L turret will now aim at the module.

Keep M turret on fighters.

Then proceed to take out each module with L turret and main guns.

edit: also if you didn't know if you set the other capital ship L turrets to shoot at my target as well if you aim at a module their turret will shoot at it as well if they can.

Managed to take it down using an asgard main gun
But the station was really large so took me quite some time (destroyed a second one that spawned almost right after but was much faster)

I am wondering if a swarm of katana would work (without getting obliterated by the lasers and add spawn)

What i usually do is have a fleet of what ever pirates ive boarded at the start of the game (L destroyers) and have them as a response fleet to xenon but if you set the turrets up correctly L attack capital and M attack fighters you can just tell them to attack the khaak station and go about your business, they will eventually kill it and anything that spawns near it.
Another way is get an Asgard and send it to attack that alone will destroy the stations very quickly.
If you have excess money get a fleet of M class ships and just let them attack anything in the area and they will make short work of it.
You can just sit there trying to find an angle that the turrets actually hit something and use SETA

You took out a hive first time then you took out an outpost

Hive spawn outpost so with the hive gone the area around the hive will be safe for three days+ worth of playtime

Does that mean that the large base is spwaning smaller ones in the nearby sectors?
I have noticed many small bases spawning in the player HQ sector, would this be because a hive is located in a neibouring sector?

yes it does spawn smaller bases and up to 3 sectors away from it and it also respawns after a while.

There is no permanent solution to get rid of the Khaak.
So dont buy S and M miners, buy L miners as soon you can afford it and with good shields. Khaak usaly dont have the dps to kill L miners.

Well most of the times. I lost two L miners to Khaak in my last playtrought in 150h.

yah they are if you take out the hive then take out the outpost in the area that infected then they almost stop spawning kha'ak to harass you.

Never understood this mindset.
You totally should buy S and M miners.

I find having S, M, and L miner all at the same time to be way more effecient then just spamming L miners because you don't like the Kha'ak.

The only time the Kha'ak can take them out S and M miners to such degree is if you let it fester to a dangerous amount.
I just set an alert for Kha'ak at my sector and when they start appearing I get rid of the outpost then head to the hive.

No casualties and I only have to do it every two week.

well you like micromanaging - so buy S and M miners
i like ignoring the khaak - so L miners it is

Thats a "taste" thing i guess. Nothing wrong doing either

I also found I couldn't be arsed to use the smaller miners

Does the main hive only spawn in a sector with a high mining activity or anywhere? (this would help narrowing down the location)
