Mod parts trader :

The easiest way to farm them is to find a place where NPCs fight often (the gates to Xenon space are a good bet) and set up a fighter on repeat order loot collection. Then empty it every few hours and soon you'll be swimming in mod parts. The green ones at least, the others drop only very rarely.
The components are collected and added to your personal inventory when you either collect lock box contents; earn wares from plots; or collect debris after a fight.
The easiest way to collect the crafting wares is to pick a fight with Khaak or Xenon then after you destroy their ships you can collect the debris. There are a couple of locations where you can meet lots of those enemies and earn lots of wares.
Ventures are being upgraded and not even in the new Beta for now. However, how they worked was that you sent a ship on a Venture during which it was not available to you and would fly around the X universe. at the end of each Venture you would have earned a reward of some credits; wares; and maybe mods [usually paint]
As all ships leave collectable debris you can salvage it after a fight between two friends if they have fought each other. The bigger the ship killed; the more craftable wares you can find.
Is it work? Last updated 09 December 2018
There is a spot though for The Best, but you have to travel drive for 24 RL game hours
to get there, A place that only the most hardheaded fanatical explorer/detective would find.
Certain ships in plot missions have them when destroyed drop exceptional mods
For example Paranid ships during Paranid plot
Terran - Yaki Plot at the end give several purple mod as well as high end seminars
Terraforming Scale Plate Green gives you dozen of modded ships that you can strip purple modifications from as well as high end pilot and crew
Also I avoid SETA which might be another factor. So if its real time played I might have scored better there.
I don't think purple parts drop as loot from xenos. I have been looking for them for quite a long time, and all this time I have an endless war with them. In Hatikva Choice I recently put a fleet right at the gate that kills them non-stop, and a couple of separate fighters collect loot. By the way, I still don’t understand where this loot goes ... that the bots collect ... Or it is added with a delay ... or it just disappears ... Rockets and other garbage are clearly added to their inventory, but the things that should fall into player inventory ... it's unclear.
I'll have to check the box at the base, maybe they are stored there. By the way, did you know that there is a box in the laboratory? =) I found it very accidentally...
You can set an automatic order for Pilots to take Inventory wares back to the HQ. You access those wares through the storage facility in the Laboratory. A good tactic is to set several ships to collect wares then I usually Teleport around those ships asking their Pilot to hand over their Inventory. That saves me waiting for the Inventory being taken back to PHQ. I do this before I dock to sell my Inventory
Perhaps I picked up more Exclusive parts in the Ventures than I realised. However, I have also killed quite a few I's and remember being pleased with the loot. Since I cannot say for definite that I's drop Exclusive parts I'll have to wait for a definitive statement from one of the experts. tbh I just don't watch too closely so long as I get those Exclusives :D
I got 2 purple mod parts the last time i emptied out my looters in addition to 500 programmable field arrays, 7k+ interface modules and 600+ spacefly eggs, to give you a sense of the rarity in relation to other drops.
This drop rate is more of an exception, a mistake, than a reliable way to farm them. However, if we can reliably say that there is a chance to drop purple loot, this is already some kind of breakthrough in the matter.
By the way, does anyone know when Ventur will be launched again? As far as I understand, this was one of the most reliable ways to get purple loot.
