Terran ship-building reliant on community of planets tech?
Couldn't help but notice that Terran ships still require advanced electronics and other materials that are made by other races, but not the Terran themselves.

Am I missing something?

Did you use Non-Terran ship parts or consumables?

There's also an option to set what ship-building parts should be used in technology both old factions and terrans have access to - e.g. missles. As far as i remember it's somewhere under the trading rules you can define.

If you have ANY BPs from other factions.... than your yard will use their resources.

Under Global Orders there is an option for Construction Methods, Universal (Community of Planets) and Terran. This setting controls what things like Thrusters, Drones, and consumables are built with by your stations and shipyards.
Thanks for all the replies. I have global orders set to Terran. I was just confused by the inclusion of the Universal building materials in the logical overview. The Terran ships and equipment indeed do not use these, which is good. From a lore point of view I'd be very confused if Terran ships needed other racial tech.

I'm seeing Terran NPC shipyards requiring "other" species' electronics. My global trades rules settings will not change their behavior, correct?
Is there a way to have Terran NPC shipyards not rely on things like Advanced Electronics and other things?

u running any mods? because in my game The terran shipyard and warf do not request any commonwealth materials.

have you noticed problems with your shipyard assigned traders not working because they are all looking for a commonwealth good not available near terran shipyard (or vice versa).
