Differences between in system and out of system (IS vs OOS)
Greetings all. Just wanted to know what your most surprising discoveries were between in system combat and out of system.

We know that destroyers will struggle vs fighters and drones IS but will delete them in seconds OOS. I was personally surprised that 26 fully upgraded Behemoths (4/5 star pilots if it makes any difference in combat) with plasmas suffered significant losses vs Xenon Solar Plant OOS but a lone, (moderately) upgraded Rattlesnake did that same Plant quicker and less stressfully. Same with Xenon type-I, saw a youtube video of a solo Rattler shredding I's and K's by the dozen. Not sure how much editing there was but it seemed like you could almost do the whole system that way, especially if NPCs have started to encroach a bit and thin out the 'backlog'.

Just a moment ago I left an SCA Phoenix with no engines and no turrets, teleported out for the 'boring' boarding bit and suddenly my 'plucking ship' (Katana) was losing hull (even though 2 seconds ago there were zero turrets left). Boarding operations with weak target hull 100% succeed IS and 90% destroy the target OOS.

I know the list is long and Ego can't harmonise IS with OOS without melting our CPUs but the size of some the disparities is very interesting I think, in some cases encouraging fun IS play in others giving a lifesaving 'out' for an outmatched PC via OOS.

My experience with IS and OOS and 4 Behemoth destroyers were just yesterday and destroying a Ka'ak station.

IS it took me about 10 minutes while I was annoyed that they nearly didn't hit any of those little buggers that did attack the destroyers. Even if the M turrets were flak and only the large Plasma (and the L turrets were shooting at the station)

Anyway...at another system I did the same with the same destroyers OOS and they were done in no time.

So yeah. IS and OOS are two different worlds... ^^

IS to me is like playing calll of duty while OOS is like playing command & conquer it feels like playing 2 completely different games.

It like total war
One is auto resolved with just math which can lead to way off results

While the other takes much more detail in the fight instead of stat numbers vs stat numbers

OOS there is no facing, no direction, no blindspots and no concept of "engines disabled can't shoot back with front facing guns".
They can still use their main guns. If you want to safely leave the boarding bit and teleport somewhere else, you should park your ship some 15mk away.

Have any of you found that loadouts, ship workbench mods, or pilot star ratings appear to have any bearing on OOS results?

IS vs OOS like 10 vs 1 differences, some time.

IS is all RNG.
- You may hit someone or you may not.
- Everything is in flux.
- AI is extremely handicapped.
- Only useful if you are piloting your own ship.

For example, 1 x M2 vs 50 x station drones. It could take hours.

OOS is all Stats.
- No RNG. Everything is based on statistics.
- Since there is no variable, AI is extremely good in OOS.
- Very useful if you are commanding a fleet of ships or simply get something done when stats are in your favor.

For example, 1 x M2 vs 50 x station drones. It takes about 10 seconds.

OOS is broken, I see waves of fighters just getting crushed by one destroyer while if the combat happened IS they would kill the destroyer.... I once teleported in a destroyer that was fighting 50 fighters, he was killing them OOS, when I teleported we got rocked in seconds...
Put some respect on fighters please...

still remember a meatfactory killing a raptor and monitor as they both wanted to invade 11th hour OOS :D.
