New NVidia beta driver hopefully fixes 30xx Vulkan crashes! - Please try

NVidia just informed us, that the latest beta driver on the following page, might contain a fix for the infamous 30xx crash that many of you might experience.

If you have been affected by this, please try out this driver and contact me if the game crashes again (ideally by sending me a .dmp file) by email to [e-mail]

The version of the beta driver is 458.06 and is lower than the current latest release driver (461.72 at the time of writing). Still the 458 driver is from yesterday and does include a new Vulkan beta version.

Just in case this might help anyone... I switched to borderless window and I haven't crashed yet today and I have played for like 5 hours straight.

Didnt work for me as well. Still crashing with Error 1028

Fwiw, I did crash once on startup today with the error, but after that it was smooth sailing.

So I kinda doubt that it has anything to do with borderless window or not now but I figured I'd mention it if it means anything to people smarter than I am about this stuff.

Game only crashes for me when I use 4k resolution. (3090). I also play on 1440 mostly and cap FPS to 60, so its possible that running the GPU hard is causing crashes.

Manuel, the feedback is for a reproducible crash. I have this issue, but it's completely random for me.

Eg. Today I had 2 crashes. 1 in the morning just after reaching the main menu. I reloaded the game and was able to run the game for hours without issue. Just now I played for an hour then crashed.

im using a 1080ti, I7-7700k 4.2 and 32gb ram, tried the beta-driver mentioned above. very sad i was SO looking forward to play this :( thanks to those trying to help

I also have a 3090 and the game still crashes on 1440p(ultrawide though). Thus I do not believe resolution is the issue. it crashed on the menu twice. Specifically, when selecting a new gamestart and the video on the thumbnail starts playing. It crashed once during the flying lesson tutorial after 10 minutes or so, and once again on the terran gamestart after 20 mins or so. So 4 crashes within 1.4 hours(most of that I was afk). GPU Temp was 60-70c. It's the only game that has crashed in recent memory(early access titles notwithstanding). however, note that every setting is maxed. I must say I am disappointed. Between this and x-rebirth, egosoft is really loosing their touch. At this point, I would rather have a remaster of the older games.

edit: if it helps my specs are:
-5900x
-32 gb ram
-asus crosshair hero viii
-strix 3090
-windows 10 pro 64 bit 20H2 build 19042.867
-bios and driver are kept up to date but
graphic card driver version is 461.40(some other game doesn't play nice with the newest drivers)
The error in question is Exitcode 222-231, 1028 (Access to physical device lost). Yes, all 4 times.

I don´t know if it´s a driver issue but for me this one works.

I'm using 461.92 - since release and had just one crash before the main menu screen appears. After that, i was able to play for hours and hours, what i actually did. :)

The only thing i've changed was to turn off the autosavings. I saw a post here or in the official forums that some one had no/or nearly no crashes more when deactivating this feature.

The latest patch and drivers 461.92 are not friends with each other ((2060 starts working with a high temperature and 90% load with the drop of artifacts in the game menu. I put 461.72 everything returned to normal((
I played for 2 days 461.72 and found no problems

Which driver set are ya'll using (there are two for every release)? using "studio" drivers, i get crashes. I've gone three days now on "game-ready" drivers with no issues.

I have HAGS enabled and played about 10h since I bought my 3070 last week. No crashes so far.
