khk pirates spawn
khk pirates constantly showing up from nowhere and raid my miners, I am losing miners fast, even those well armed ones. anyone know how to deal with pirate raids?

I mean is there a khk pirate base or something that I can deal with them once for all, at lest how those pirates showing up at my homebase sector without me noticing? I have satellite watching star gate

kha'ak are not pirates, they are hostile aliens, they now spawn anywhere you have a miner working making early game mining a true nightmare, get 2 M combat escorts for each miner and use L miners only

Are you mining nvidium kha'ak are sensitive on it?

What Luisedgm said. The devs decided to nerf mining by "making it more dangerous" along with make it spawn slower (your universe will run out if you have too many miners now). I would suggest asking the devs to revert that "popular" change. Until then buy tons of escorts and mount only the heaviest dmg turrets on your miners.

I don't have issue with them but I don't mine in grand exchange

Yeah, it seem only spawn at grand exchange and nearby sectors, I think devs really need to work on kha'ak, I suggest kha'ak spawn from a hive in a sector, if player destroy that hive, kha'ak stop showing up for like 1 hour or 2, till the hive respawn at somewhere else

Yeah my AIs ignore grand exhange for the most part aside from Grand Exhange I or IV? But those aren't the ones I see die often. I tend to stick to paranid argon Ant and unclaimed sectors. I have miners in Pious mist that are constantly hit by the bugs now and same in Silent witness XII. Oh also Antigone memorial and Frontier's edge. Have entire fleets patrolling in those. Also have claimed Both XII and XI silent witness and Frontier's edge.

(edit for clarity) : so when you mine now no matter where it is. It has a chance when rolling numbers to just spawn a "queens guard" and other fighters. Kha'ak hives will double spawns as they consistantly make the corvette type with multiple fighters untill dead. (even then the sector spawns at random Kha'ak depending on the roll of the miner AI)

They should spawn only by nvidium deposits and grand exchange is rich on it so high risk high reward

It happens in over mined zones, and it is not a new feature that came with the last release. It makes me let down completly small miners, even I used not that much this kind of ships. I also now buy or build only teladi mano miners, and turret are now weapons turret (flak if possible) instead of mining one. However there is a time where it is not enough. When I can affort it, I buy or build teladi gunboat (cheaper than frigates and more performing at cbt than argon gunboat). I assign a gunboat as protector (behaviour protect ship to avoid to create a fleet each time). Usually it is not very efficient when use to escort merchant and defend against pirats, but heavy and slow teladi mining ship can affort the escort rescue them with a little delay.

I have try to protect mining area with gunboat assigned as protect an area, but result was not completly satisfying.

In option you can considere to buy a mk1 turret per mining ship (7500 cr for lowest price) it sometime allow to create a distraction to flee or gain a bit of time before the cavalry arrival.

I came looking for answers to this question saturday. In my game all was going very well until i finally had a station setup nicely and was beginning to turn a profit. My miners were under constant khaak attack. Come to find out that there was a khaak installation in my sector quite a ways outside the normal borders, I just had to search for it.

This early in the game, it was very difficult but i managed to destroy it last night and the attacks have stopped for now. I spent all of my funds on M ships which ended up being 2x cerberus Sentinels and 5x minotaurs. All loaded with medium preset except for 1 of the minotaurs that i put heavy torpedos on and piloted myself.

It took close to an hour and a half to destroy it, but i managed to do it without any losses.

I came close to losing a ship a couple of times so i think that would be about the minimum you could do it with. I dont know though, I am still new at this game.

Note: after destruction there is an inactive base marker so i am assuming they may rebuild it in the future.

It doesnt seem to have any defences on the station itself, but spawns waves of M and S ships. Kill the waves and go back to attacking the station. Next time i will have a better fleet to deal with it.

I wish all game developers understood how annoying and immersion breaking it is to just spawn enemies on top of the player. It doesn't make the game harder it just makes it dumb.

It actually more immersive
Kha’ak have their own version of the jump drive they aren’t even native to the section of the gate network that all the other race share.
They are pretty much an invasive species from another chunk of the gate network elsewhere

what immersion breaking on it? Kha'ak are threat from X2 lurking in asteroid and attack everything and had jump capable hive swarm cluster balls of ships to just jump in and make mess

I just think there should be ways for player to strike back, now there is no effective way for player to hit kha'ak hard, if player can't find kha'ak 's station/hive (if there is really such a thing), there is almost nothing to do but watch miners being destroyed here and there(I currently can't afford to buy L miners)
