Go vanilla with some other basic mods first. Good experience. Then, when you want to relearn everything, play in a different way, go VRO.
As you need to do a fresh start with it anyways, you can just give it a shot, see if it's for you, and if not just unsubscribe and continue a previous game.
like normal x4 in some ways but it have its flaws.
For my part it make the game playable .
and i played all Parts since X: Beyond the Frontier
If you are refering to fighters.... don't build them at all.
A Xenon P will one-shot any fighter.
