How do I dock at the Geometric Owl?
It's stuck in the hazardous asteroid field and I can't dock at it on a ship, but I can't approach it in a spacesuit either, because I die instantly on entering the hazardous region.
What am I supposed to do?

Placing the nav beacon just inside the edge of the hazardous zone should cause the ship to park close enough to reach. It may take several attempts as it seems the ship lands at random distances from the beacon each time.

I'm staring at the Geometric Owl at the moment, had to put the game down for IRL stuff. I'll get to it later tonight and let you know what I find out. Cool looking ship though!

Park your ship outside the hazard zone, then EVA to the Owl and board it

The Owl should be just outside the Radiation Field... just target her, request Docking permission in your EVA (Shift + D) and enter the Cargohatch on her belly...

It should be that easy.

It is in fact inside the radiation field and I can't get close to it in the suit, that's the problem. I'm just 1.5 km short

the Warning "hazardous Region detected" only indicates that you are about to enter the Field, you have roughly 2-3 km before the actual field.

I also had to repair it before i could board. :) Someone was nice to point that out to me today.

Yes if you look in the lower left corner of your UI the mission objective shows "repair the Owl" as you approach for boarding.

I'm glad you guys worked this one out. It took me a while to work it out myself last night.

I eventually dropped the beacon on the edge of hazardous space and then gave it a nudge with my ship to move a little closer to the owl. That caused it to ride out to me, then it was just the space walk and the tickle with the repair laser to take it over.

Repair before docking works \O/

I just played the mission and the Owl is definitely INSIDE the radiation and always kills me (older savegame)!
I managed to fly to it, get out into space and inside the owl and then teleport back and forth to save my second ship from getting destroyed.

If you put a beacon on the edge of the radiation field it will cause the owl to autopilot to you. If the beacon isn't close enough you just nudge it with your ship close to the owl. Eventually it will trigger it to autopilot out. (I reloaded a number of times before realising this)

Finished the mission tonight. Getting into the Geometric owl was fairly simple, exit whatever ship I was in (BTW, What the heck happened to it??? I didn't get it back after finishing the mission.) and EVA'd over to the Owl and requested docking and docked.

I would like to know what happened to my original ship though... lol. It wasn't cheap...

Depends where you left it. My originally ship had a co-pilot to take over it. So I sent it to sit in a station while I went off in the owl. It's possible if it was left that it could of been killed by xenon/kha'ak/Yaki or assorted pirates.

I have the owl setting in dock storage I am debating if I should do this mission.
