Anyone getting a bug where they CAN open the map but CANNOT open "P" menu?

Then one that shows you your relationships to factions, finances, crew, etc. The property menu, basically. Sometimes, randomly, I just cannot open it. Even if I open the map and click on it instead of pressing "P," it just simply won't open. I have no choice but to either load or, in some more extreme cases, close the game completely and reopen it.

Anyone else getting this problem?

Had a similar instance with the "i" menu, never got to the bottom of it other than a reload/restart will fix it.

Best I got was -maybe- it's an intermittent glitch when you hit two keys simultaneously when trying to use a menu hotkey.

the player info screen?
it happened to me, either save then reload, if u ok for the time needed, or just keep playing, the screen will pop back at random time, back to normal.
try do something about changing from piloting to not piloting, as i noticed the menu repop when i start piloting ship, but it's not consistent.

sometimes I get distracted or whatever, but if you are on the map after doing an assign crew instruction, where you are supposed to select the work ship, or when selecting a builder for a factory, or some other kind of special purpose moments on the map lock out many of the functions besides what's currently going on. And if the game for whatever reason is in that state and you don't want to be there, you can click the little "<" sign far upper right corner of the map to go back. That may or may not be what's happening to y'all.

I have the same problem. It works when I first start the game, but then once I go into the info screen for a ship I can't see my property menu for a good long time... if ever.

I saw a work around on some other issue where interact stops working. The fix was to get out of the menu and hit F2 and then F1 a couple of times. It did fix my issue so I would try it.

It seems every 20 or so minutes I need to reload a save to get the menus to work again. The ship menu and the map seem to break quite frequently now. Every time I press the button it refuses to open for both.

Yeah, some mods broke some things with the beta as well as the full release more than likely.

Are you running sirnukes support APIs? there was a bunch of talk on that steam page about how certain menu functions are broken.

This is a classic profile crash bug. For me, it happens 100% of time when I open player menu while selecting a war mission. Sitting on cockpit awhile fix this most of time, otherwise I have to reload the game. nVidia released a patch which supposed to fix this bug like a year ago but doesn't seem to work for me atm.

I actually found a fix. When I get this bug I press enter to go to the ship interaction menu, then I use ctrl + > to switch to the map and it seems to fix it

I know its older post, i am new to the game, but, thanks for the advice. I was scratching my head why suddenly my map won't open and some menus are missing, turns out save/reload thing worked.
Anyone have any advice how to get better framerates in game?

Turn down the graphics settings? If that doesn't help, then you are being limited by your CPU. On the down side, it would mean you are stuck with the framerate. On the plus side, you might be able to turn the graphics up higher and still get the same framerate.

The ** inverse ** bug is still there and I could reproduce it.

Reproducing it

1. Scooping up some containers in space.
2. Docking at a trade station
3. While not in pilot seat (likely not a factor), transfer wares from the ship interaction menu.

a. Now nothing happens (no trading)
b. Pressing M to open map does not work.

The unworkable workaround

1. Reload saved game (if you are lucky to have saved)
2. Select the ship on your map
3. Now right-click on station to give the trade command

Now a trade window opens and things are normal.

My conclusion

This is a bug that makes the game really unplayable for new players or even returning ones such as me. Things not responding as can be expected and the feeling of having no control is the worst a gamer can get.

If I had not found this post I would not have been able to figure out what was happening and simply gave up on X4. Lets hope the UI simplification they promised for next patch fixes a lot of this sort of thing.
