Any L miner can tank your basic khaak swarm pretty much forever so you can just set them to ignore attacks and they'll keep mining until your reinforcements arrive.
You just need to get rid of the khaak for them to use their travel drive.
Combine the two and even a huge sector like Nopelios' Fortune can be kept reasonably clean by 2-3 fast frigates or 12-18 interceptors (in groups of six).
Perseus with shard batteries do pretty well for me against khaak and xenon with high killing speed IS and OOS and very low losses.
They're also reasonably cheap so the cost ends up about the same either way.
Unfortunately i've had no luck getting my L miners to actually kill khaak themselves, no matter what weapons i give them.
The stations are magicked into existence in the sector. Ships are magicked into existence in the vicinity of the station before moving to attack stuff, they also come in in waves to defend the station when you attack it.
If you destroy the station, the ships stop appearing (at least in my experience).
In my game, Khaak constantly spawn in Nopileos fortune, no matter if I'm in the area or not.
10-15 Khaak ships will quickly accumulate. So it would be nice if someone maybe know enough about the spawning mechanics to tell me how i poked the nest this badly? Is it the mining that spawns them? I'm not mining nvidium.
