Automatic Personal Station Trading / Ware transfer
Greetings!

I am currently at a point in the game where I have claimed a sector for myself. Inside this sector I have finished construction a few different stations aimed for different products.

One of these stations is fully dedicated to be a food & medica production, meant to supply the other stations.

However I am struggling to setup the traders to do it for me.

I've set the stations (and traders) to only trade with my own faction and the same system.
I've tried fiddling around with the pricing and buy ammount.
I've tried the "repeat order" with buy and sell queued:

Most of the time the traders just loaded up and then started wiggling back and forth outside the station, and didnt do anything beyond that. The only thing that "sort of" worked has been the repeat order. But it worked only with one of the wares (food rations only, not Terran MRE nor Med supplies).

What am I missing?

If and when you do this, how do you set it up?

Assign transports to it. Then set them up to "distribute wares" instead of "trade wares". This causes them to only send the products to your own stations.

Look at your own loop as you would with any other Faction, your Factories want to make Profit... so let them think they would earn Money.

Even if this money stays in the Family it has to change Hands... back and forth.

Just setting your Stations to Trade with you only is sufficient, you don't need to fiddle with Prices... only thing you eventually have to do is to have one Station that generates the Money that will circulate within your Empire... for most Players this Station will be a Shipyard or Wharf that sells to external Factions.

This however would work as well, but it would require a Blacklist that exludes everyone except your own Faction.

Try ordering the ship to trade with both of your stations (not ware excahnge, actually trade with money). If you can't tell them to buy or sell any amount of wares - the station rules forbid it. Disable all "automatic" checkboxes, set sell threshold to 0, buy threshold to maximum. set trade rules for food orders to your faction only (restrict every faction, allow your faction checkboxes), make sure you don't have "default behaviour" checked. Set sell price to minimum, buy to maximum, no actual credit transfer will ever occur. Vice versa to amount thresholds - low to sell, max to buy. Set your freighter jump range to 0. This seems to be the only way to make traders work reliably. Keep in mind though that they will also attempt to sell to npc factories in sector if their prices also max out, so realistically you're better off with a fleet of M or S freighters shuttling back and forth for every ware, or build food stuff modules directly into your complex.

I would do that but for some reason my pilots are not leveling up :( ( im basically restricted to the seminars i find...).

I have Trade ships that I've had since the first day and they are stil level 1 - 1 ½ in piloting, Morale is the only thing that I activly noticed going up. So I have zero ships that are capable of doing anything beyond the most basic order. Distribute Wares is grayed as a result.

Worth Noting to @eMYNOCK. I feel something may be up there, probably should report it on the forum should I not? (note, tp be secific I got 2 baldrics the first ingame day i beleive, im now on day 8 ingame, still the same piloting skill, where the ship im activly flying around with has its pilot be almost max level by now).

I will try and look closer at both these Direct methods.

Previously with the repeat order i just did the "sector" trading option, not direct trading.
