Scanning for Blueprints Senseless ?
After i spend my hard earned ressources into Developing the ability to scan for blueprints i spend now a half hour by searching Data leaks to get a new blueprint. And my Outcome is so far Zero. I am sure i would find a Data leak and get a Blueprint this way.
But, is the outcome really alike one per hour (and that only as long as you have not allready 90% of the scannable blueprints) ?

I mean i can do other stuff and make in the same time more money. Like Seizing 2 Destroyer

Do i miss something or is it just suboptimal

4 data leaks will appear and you'll get the blueprint from one of them. 1 of the other leaks will normally give a discount at that factory or something similar.
Once you're in the swing of it it's done in a couple of minutes. Finding the precise module you're after can be a bit bothersome sometimes though.

What kind of leaks are you scanning?
Sparkeling Radio Leaks or Red Dot Data Leaks?

How are you scanning them?
Ship Scanners are less effective than the Space Suit Scanner.

Are you 100% that you do not own the Module in question already?

I don't bother. I just earn my money other ways and buy them. I only ever scanned 1 blueprint and I think that was maybe part of a mission

Hehe, that might explain why I don't bother. I never realised there is more than one type of leak ;P

So theres even one more Obstacle ?

Ok, i guess i forget that whole thing. Thanks, i thought i need only to find such a sparke thingie on a module i need.

If theres even more and only a chance to get the blueprint i prefer to make 50 Millions cash in the same time i would need to invest to spare 5 Million

there are only 2 types of Leaks.

Radio Leaks that give you Missions and Dataleaks that give you Discounts, Blueprints, Informations and such.

From your answer i take that you have tried to scan a Radio Leak (the Sparkeling ones), those will only give you Missions.

What you are looking for are the Red Glowing Orbs that are attached to some kind of Wires.

As mentioned, when you Scan them in your Ship you only have a certain Chance to get the Blueprint of the Module it is attached to.

If you scan them in your Space Suit its almost every time a guaranteed Scan (unless you already have the Blueprint).

Just to mention it, the 3rd Option to get Scannable Leaks is the usage of a Space Suit EMP Bomb.
Those will create around 4 Micro Data Leaks you can only Scan while in your Suit.

Given you have Researched the Type of Module you want 1 of the 4 Leaks is a guaranteed Blueprint Scan.

Also, before the Question even comes up...
You can not get Blueprints for Equipment Dock or Shipyard Modules via Leak Scanning, they are too well encrypted for any Scan.

Go EVA, switch to scan mode. (shift-2), aim at signal source.

I had no issues, i just used the pricefinder to find the stations that had the productions i needed

The easiest way to find blueprints is to explode the spacesuit EMP bomb on the particular station module that you want the blueprint for. Scan the station with your ship first. Then open the map go to Info find the station you just scanned and expand the drop down menu for that station to highlight the module you want explode the EMP on that module. Use your spacesuit (press SHIFT 2) and scan the 4 data leaks that appear. one of those leaks will provide the blueprint.

That's easiest when you want something now. I scanned in quite a few blueprints just by doing shift-2 and cruising around whatever stations I felt like dancing around. As with Rebirth, it's relaxing and makes for good flight practice. Great for the early parts of the game when you aren't in a rush to get blueprints.

Red dots are often hard to see. I found them a lot more when I turned the music down and kept my thrust low enough that the engines didn't make much noise. Ears beat eyes for these things.

Rarely, one of them will be oriented in some crazy way that puts the red dot inside the station. You'll have to use the ship scanner instead of the space suit scanner for those.
