Are more XL/L ships per faction planned?
Game is allrdy more than 2 years old and still less ships than X:R had in the beginning.
Does anyone know if they gonna add more than just one Carrier/Destroyer per Faction?


I rlly try to play this game in Vanilla :steamsad: but it feels so lacking in AI behaviour(mining,economy,etc.), balance (e.g. Xenons) or variety in ships...
I still have some hope for ships though. :cozysmitedaji:

There are currently 196 ships according to https://roguey.co.uk/x4/ships/

I think that's plenty of ships, however there is another DLC planned for later this year which will no doubt add 20-30 more ships into the game again. As for the vanilla factions, they probably won't have anymore ships added in.

Well we know the answer; YES.

Each DLC brings some new ships and we know another DLC is planned.

I meant ship variety per faction. The only exception is TER with 2 different destroyers.

My Priority list
* Fix that damn Crew manangment system, i cant use ships made by my own Docks, and the only docks i can buy ships are Argon, Antigone, and Terran. Or i need to spend Many dozend hours to manage the crew in my Human only Imperium
For me the most gamebreaking bug at all

* Fix the AI Miner Prioritys and the AI Pilots wait at every damn gate, as result i wait every time i need additional Ships unneeded several minutes

Fix the Friendly Fire faction punishment for AI controlled weapons

.... Well the rest is ok, even if i would love more content

Sector security would be nice too. If ship calls for help they should get the help if you controle the system... I use a mix of Repeat orders and protect area/attack all enemies, but still loosing many M-Trader/Miner (even in safe areas like The Reach). Patrol is more like attack everything on sight and ignore everything else.

Or just a react on help request.
So you could set up small fleets that guard a fixed area, and if one of your ships request help they could react. (Like bases with 1 sector range per Skill Star)

I would prefer it setup as such :
The station with the admin module that's in charge of the sector should be IN CHARGE of the sector. The manager of said station should take on extra roles. You should be able to just dump off a ton of fighting ships and that manager (The Mayor) should take care of setting up patrols and responding to distress calls and whatnot. Just like the AI factions do.

Honestly i think either Xenon needs some new L/XL ships or Kha'ak needs any.

There's enough** variety amongst the races for the ships you can fly, but the variety in what you can shoot at is pretty lacking. It's been nearly a decade since i played X3 though so my memory is quite rusty on what was in there.

**There's always the mod that introduces most of the X:R ships, for those who want more.

I would love to see a DLC that expands the Xenon. Maybe a new gate opens up and the new and improved "branch-10" Xenon start flowing through.

Yeah I get what you mean, also more visual variety: Why do all bigger Teladi Ships have to look like a fungus? Or all bigger Paranid Ships like a hairdryer?

Or all bigger Argon Combat Ships like, I don't know, a trident?

I can literally imagine, how they decided to make the ARG Carrier look like:

"So, how should the ARG Carrier look like?"
"Take the Behemoth and make it bigger"
"Genius!"

And also, the Vanilla Races lack a battleship that even comes close to something like an Asgard, they need an Addition.

And yeah, Xenon should be a bigger threat, repeatedly invading the space of the playable races. They already had that, I remember in a save way back, I saw an I and two K's invading Hatikvah's Choice I, bringing some desperate defense fighting to it, costing several stations and the trade station was bombed down to 50%, but it survived.

That was fun, it gave a sense of the Xenon being actually a big threat, a scourge.

Now they mostly just fly through sectors to get to other Xenon Sectors and seldom I have the feeling of them being a great danger to the gate network.
Only sometimes, e.g. in Fires of Defeat/Victory, they seem to want to claim an area around a gate and attack an FRF Station there more or less regularly, but strangely only with M's, N's and P's, not with bigger ships like the K, that is patrolling in that sector.

So yeah, Xenon, even if they don't get new ships (like a Carrier for themselves or something that could remotely stand up to an Asgard) should become a bigger threat.

in the meantime, for a new save game start I already start to think about moving away from Vanilla and add some mods in, e.g. a mod to make Xenon a bigger threat.

You want that there is mods for that that add new ship types, they kind of are happy with where it is now its a ♥♥♥♥ ton of ships as is.

i'll think about using mods after they release ventures update, since i never got to play with that originally (as excluded from 3.xx beta).

I think i'll stop the vanilla too at ~10-20 billion networth and just keep a backup.

I played too many hundreds of hours with non-cheaty mods, just enhancing game behaviour, more quality of life, more ships from X:Rebirth, etc. xD. I rlly love the Arawn, counterpart of the Raptor xD
