TER Silicon Wafer Factory Blueprint where???
I'm sitting at the faction representative right now looking through them all and I can't see the module required that refines silicon into wafers.

How/where do I get it?

They don't need it.
they have their own silicon dependent products.

Computronic Substrate and Silicon Carbide

So you're saying I can't build silicon refineries with TER stations?

Or do they have another factory building that will refine it? They must get it from somewhere. Silicon is used in computer production.

Actually, do they have any refineries at all? How do they produce goods? LOL

Maybe I'll work on the silicon carbide. I already bring in the required materials.

TER economy is really simple almost without intermediate wares and completely separate from the commenwealth economy (besides E-cells).
This helped me greatly with my first terran run: https://www.reddit.com/r/X4Foundations/comments/mhaeu6/terran_production_chart/

Just be aware of the insane ressources needed to use these modules.
1 computronic substrate module needs 24k energy cells, 12k hydrogen and 18k ore and silicon per hour :D

That what I'm saying they have different production.
The thing they need silicon for are Computronic Substrate and Silicon Carbide
Those are how they produced their good

Not only this but their production chains are very simple compared to regular factions... you can just make a big computronic substrate factory, assign a ton of miners to it, and watch it literally print money with no intermediates needed at all. Its like claytronics without the production line. Downside is you need to assign every miner in the galaxy to the factory to match the same efficiency as the claytronics

Well I think I'm getting it down. My solar plant has evolved into a more complex station, so I'm assigning a bunch of miners to it to gather all the resources now.

I'm just getting confused about workers and worker requirements though. Do the habitation modules produce their own food and meds or do I need the factory additions for that - or can I just allocate funds for the station to buy from traders?

But yeah. I have the funds, so I may quickly wind up making a carbide factory ANYWAY, lol.

habitation module use food and med (which scale with how much people you actually have in your habitation module) you can import them from traders or make it yourself through other modules.

If you can afford to do so make a substrate factory. For a sizeable one to satisfy TER shipyards you need ~60mil starting capital for the station itself (including energy cell production & ~4-5 production modules) + ~40mil for a massive mining fleet. I use 75 M size miners.

I have a similarly sized carbide factory and the substrate factory makes much much more money.

I hate massive mining fleets I think it better just to improve the effectiveness of your miners.
Screw having 75 M miners when you can have 30 or so

I agree because it lags and results in more micro but TER stuff requires tons of raw materials especially silicon... silicon takes sooooo long to mine so I have a lot in order to meet the insatiable demand of the shipyards. Of course your mileage may vary depending on what you want to do with such a factory

that easy have 4 star pilots (easy easy with terraforming training)
have basic mining modification on them.
Watch as your miners now mine at a crazy rate because of the bonuses.

Ah well I have yet to bother ranking my pilots. I plan to make another substrate megafactory down the line and I will go this route

Why use 75 M miners when you can use instead e.g. 10 L miners? They're more resilient against attacks from encounters too, since most of them are S or M sized ships.

Because they return more frequently and they are in the asteroid belt which means they have the standard colossal terran fleet guarding them. I use L miners everywhere else though for those reasons

True but that still leaves the problem with much traffic lagging down your PC, if it can't handle it and that point is reached for every PC sooner or later.
