If you don't see any on your map either explore the sector edges better or watch NPC traffic for ships flying off into the unknown and follow them.
Also make sure you have trade data access (meaning a satellite in range or a recent visit by a ship of yours) or you won't be able to see any buy offers.
So systems most likely?
Grand exchange ?
Argon Prime?
Can I long range scan the stations?

You can LRS them, though keep in mind that that does have a limited range (depending on how close to the limit you charge it) so it's best to use it near the sector edge instead of the center. It works fine then.
My suggestion would be to fly near the original sector border, do a LRS and have a scout explore the newly revealed area. That seems to be the "sweet spot" in my experience, just outside the original sector borders.
Better yet just put them in auto trading in that sector.
Also, I know this isn't what you'd want to hear but my best solution to this issue has been to diversify.
For example, silicon chips sell really well, consider refining your silicon first. it increases the profit by a lot. But just in general having multiple products makes riding out poor selling a lot easier.
Basically nothing is always in demand and trying to make money by selling any single ware is slow going.
