terran start economy tips
Hi
so here I am, I stopped the main plot at the mission where I am supposed to build a dock for my station, in order to build some economy and upgrade my ship first.

currently I have 3 mineral miners: 1 in asteroid belt and 2 in Getsu Fune, mining silicon
and one gas miner for methane, mining in asteroid belt and selling in Getsu Fune (I have to do it manually)

thing is: the silicon mills struggle to sell their product and therefore dont always accept silicon.
seeing that I wanted to buy a few traders, but I realized most TER production station sell high, while buying stations buy low, so theres no profit to be made here.
and finally, most neighboring factions have -15 relations with me

I dont really know what to do at this point to develop further, so im looking for tips :)

PS: also a different question:
without telling me how, is there a way to unlock buying the Asgard and Syn at all, or is buying blueprints the only way?

thanks in advance :)

There should be a RAVENOUS demand for silicon in Terran space. Their carbide mills consume a lot of silicon very fast.

essentially the second that you can get your hands on a miner, tell it to get silicon. If you're lucky then there is factories IN the asteroid belt.

I too find the terran economy difficult, often seeing prices for goods sold 1 credit lower than the price for demand. There do appear to be some periodic changes where profits can be made but mostly with Computronic Substrate in Segaris and around Mars-Earth sectors.

An easy go-to solution is to build a Stimulant factory and sell to Segaris. That'll generate a steady profit.

Other than that I would place satellites all over the place to be aware of trade opportunties.

Profitable trading in Terran space is hard. Try looking for profitable runs with protein paste and energy cells.
While E-cells are not the most profitable, you get a very consistent cash flow if you buy them cheap at mercury and sell them in the outer sphere.
Protein paste however is very profitable and you can set up traders and trade stations for those.

Generally speaking ressource trading is way more important in Terran space than in commonwealth space. Gas especially I found to be very profitable.

Also while the general demand of Terran wares is low, they´re still exceptionally expensive, so you´ll still make decent money if you produce them yourself.

Regarding the PS, there´s currently no way to buy an Asgard or Syn.

you can seize a asgard or syn

thanks for all your replies!

right now I have 3.5M in the bank, so nowhere near able to build a station.

the demand for sillicon IN sectors with silicon isnt so great.
if i am to sell it outside of asteroid belt or Getsu Fune, I have to give orders manually for each ship, thats gonna become very tedious very fast.

or is there anyway to automate it more that I dont know about? the only option I have with all my crews is auto-mine sector, currently.
and from my understanding g aining stars is very long, right?

id like to remain friends with Terrans for the time being (im nowhere close to the point where I can get and use them right now anyway, it was mostly curiosity :) )

also im wondering why they appear in the build ships list at all then

You can use Repeat Order to mine in one system and sell in another. It only needs one star and basic seminars can be bought at the traders corner on any station.

Or you could just build a mining station. A dock + solid/liquid storage costs under 500k and will make mining and selling resources much simpler.

Gaian Prophecy had stations spawn in my game that made it suitable for autominers, asteroid belt only had enough demand for a couple miners.

Due to the random chance of stations spawning on a gamestart outside key stations like wharfs and shipyards my best advice is to analyze the market conditions as best you can and then make a decision on how you want to proceed.

I personally ended up sending small ship mining groups out to every faction to build rep up anyway after I did enough missions to be able and dock and then gradually built up a fleet of medium miners.

You also get a Syn for free eventually during the Yaki plot.

The Syn is available for free simply by progressing far enough in the Terran storyline.

Most players who get an Asgard early on, get it through drive-by boarding.

Also if you grab this mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1780035703

I'm pretty sure there's an abandoned Asgard in one of the sectors. It's missing its main gun, sadly, so you'll have to butter up the Terrans into selling you one.

This ;)
Just train 100 veteran marines first, fill an XL transporter with 206 marines.
Oddible Sep 6, 2021 @ 11:26pm
Stop at the trader on every station you go to and but all the 1 star and 2 star training books for one. Do missions for 3 star training. That gets you some 3 star captain's pretty quickly. I also use every little ship I get and send them around exploring and dropping off satellites. This levels them up. Mining levels them up too.

I have found protein paste to be highly profitable in Terran sectors but everyone's start can be a little different.

alright thanks for your replies, ill try all of that.

how do you instruct an AI to drop satellites?
