Also I gave ways to make them go for both weaker and stronger side at same exact time so both sets of players will be happy without mods. Just a single sector that AI factions will not invade only the player can choose to attack it or not. This works for both sides "too weak" then don't kill the sector let the Xenon hide there and attack from it. "too strong" then kill the sector or simply block it with a defense station you'll be forever fine. Both sets of players would be just fine with this.
Don't attack the players claiming "selfishness" get the devs to simply apply a fix to address these issues that works for both sides. Not everyone can make a mod. There are a multitude of potential fixes that address the issues. Making certain mods not lock you from ventures is a fix. Giving the Xenon a sector that won't be reverse invaded by the AI is a fix. Giving the Xenon better defenses but not making them stronger at attacking is a fix (defense stations at their inner sector's gates being much bigger and stronger).
Add a option
But deleting the only real enemy from a game because some people cry is a bad joke. If a teacher would have to grade that he would be forced to give a 6 in germany (Whats the worst grade from 1-6) and saying that there are other people that want a other gameplay is a very very weak excuse, it means the devs choose one part of their customers over a other part.
Well at least theres hope with the coming Startgame options. Should not be that hard to make 2 Sliders that change a variable
As said earlier, from my experience, the Problem here is, that at the beginning of the game where every faction is pretty "weak" XEN are a real threat to the universe but the longer you play so the Factions got more Powerfull, the XEN are really falling behind, because it seems like they dont adapt to the more and more Powerfull factions and player.
Its like the DEVS just missed to activate or implement such a feature, like, the stronger everyone gets, the stronger the XEN will become.
At least thats what i have seen in my games all the time.
The Whole "Make it instead my way" discussion is senseless. Options are the golden way, 100% in this case. And at best not only at gamestart, instead it should be adjustable all time
what mod was it your using?
im using both of those already so ill keep running with it

(Btw i have the DLC´s but disabled them so that i have time to prepare for the blocking of Terran and Split)
Like i said,
What really would help, in my opinion, would be 1 or 2 XEN Sectors which are unreachable by the player or other factions, so the XEN wouldnt go extinct at some Point, a save haven where they always able to recover any losses.
Or maybe to advance that idea, that it is possible to "initiate" a large scale invasion by the player, like for example, it is possible to use a neutral Station or Building from "ancient times" that, if you deliver amount X of ressources or crystals or whatever, the said building will "awake" and trigger a massive XEN Invasion from the unreachable Sector. The Amplifier comes to mind here.
The Ships could even spawn in the unreachable Sectors by magic, the player would never know cause the whole magic happens in an sector he cant reach. So no immersion breaking.
Or another idea, it is possible to find "Ancient Jumpgates" which the player can activate by Hauling Ressources to them so a XEN Invasion could happen.
Or even find a "Jumpgate Blueprint" to built an Jumpgate which the XEN Could use to invade. As a one time use like, because we dont know exactly what we do the Gate will get destroyed after the XEN jump in or any other reason which could be a nice Story addition.
if you mind @Geist.
How about posting that Idea in the Official Feedback?
Just don't bump it every hour once posted...
lets hope it catches the right eyes.
Best case... your idea solved all the too weak vs. too strong arguments.
worst case... nothing will happen.
though, i would prefer the best case.
