The clipping issue from this game mostly stem from the fact that they removed blowing yourself up if you hit the wall. (like seriously the clipping issue jump up crazily after they removed it)
This was a major problem in X3, I always hated passing a gate only for a game over screen to greet me because I splatted on another ship on the other side.
Not sure how you survived X2 or X3 but can't figure out X4 (arguably the most streamline and easiest to get into)
Edit: FYI Pilots can drive your ship through mesh to their destination, it may take a few seconds for them to clip back through.
No Man's Sky flight models are pretty trivial. If I remember right, you're flying an airplane, not a space ship. The controls aren't that hard to learn in this game, though, with a little practice. Given that the game is hundreds of hours long, you'll get WAY more than a little practice!
P.S. No, you can't run faster in this game by jumping and punching at the same time. ;)
clipping yea they arnt great with programming navigation like other space games.
could try the flight school option from main menu to see if it improves ur flying skills?
If you've only had it for an hour, you can still refund it. If you don't like the game in its current state, you never will - no sense in holding onto it for hope of changes in the future.
As was stated you can clip into buildings because they took the death penalty for slapping into one out, your welcome. Just boost out you should be able to figure it out with minimal effort.
Honestly this is a thinking man's game. If you cannot tackle a learning curve then best bet is to refund it and find something simpler that is to your taste.
Hijacking this cry thread, to ask what kind of flight stick do you use?
Have you used any others than the one you currently have?
I been thinking about getting a stick just have no clue which are good and which just look good.
(I'm not the one you asked, but...)
I've been using a T.16000M and it's been great, except for the build quality issues with the twist axis and the paddles on the throttle. It's a known problem and there are fixes but they're a bit fiddly.
I think a lot of people swear by the X52 and X56 from Logitech/Saitek.
However, for serious build quality, I think enthusiasts often recommend a VKB stick. They don't have a throttle, so you'd need to get that from elsewhere if you need one.
You bought it, and didn't refund it when you noticed the clipping problem. That's how.
...because it the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter that much. The game is still enjoyable. The clipping issues happen rarely enough, and are easily remedied, that most players don't get all that worked up over it.
