Updating Trade Offers always yes?
So, I'm read whole bunch of information about satelites and their impact on the trading. After some time I notice, what absolutly all station have in their Infortation tab "Updating Trade Offers = Yes", even if there is no satelites in entire sector. I begin new game and even without any satelites all stations have their updates traid offers as yes. Is such bug in the game, or I simply not understand fully how it work?

Hmm, so there is no normal timer? I'll be bad after several hours to understand, what some stations is not covered.

Exactly. As Belteguesian says without a sat you get four hours since the last time a ship of yours got within radar range of the station in question. Sats are the only reliable way to automatically keep your trading going (unless you've got enough rep with a faction and are prepared to fork out 10-12m Cr for a trade license)

However another major benefit of sats is they enable you to see ships and where they are going. This becomes more and more important as the game goes on. If a Xenon I and three K's or a couple of HOP main battle fleets are heading your way you really, really want to know about it. Satellite coverage is worth it's weight in gold.

What I do is buy two or three cheap fighters as scouts early game for mapping sectors, finding all the stations etc and dropping sats on them. You can chain sat drops easily so it's actually pretty painless to sat up whole sectors quickly without you having to do it yourself.

I can't remember where to find the timer but after a certain amount of time station usually switch from yes to no if nothing comes along to update it.

Unfortunately the only way to have continuous price update is through satellite coverage. I usually put only the ones that I am going to be trading with/for and of course cover the gates/accelerators. The station satellites I collect back as soon as I get to rep +20 with the faction and buy the trade subscription. Then I redeploy the satellites in a factions that I am still not in such good terms or sell them for profit (there is good profit if you buy them from Equipment docks and sell them to Wharfs),

You can scan station dataleaks and there can be a comission / surplus sale and permanent trade subscription (iam not sure if you only can acquire it by space suit)

Some of them you can scan from your ship, some you have to go on space suit because they are weak. You'll get a notification if you have to go spacewalking for it.

It would be interesting if the trade license or a similar one also gave you access to that factions own satelite coverage.

Thanks to all. And thank you Gregorovitch for more info about satellites. I still do not understand fully how it all must work, but now I will be more careful with their placement.

Remember standard satellites has a range of 60 km (2x30 radius) and an advanced satelitte has an even bigger range. So you can many times cover more then one station with one satellite if you place them properly.
