You can right click and choose explorer.

but this allways leads in my ships fly to the nearest unexplored section, not scouting the already explored area for new stations appearing

Personally i set a series of waypoints for the npc pilot that covers the entire sector and go do something else while the sector is being ‘uncovered’. Afterwords i come back and put the npc pilot a set of commands to place satelittes at stations and jump gates.

I also do that, usually I make a few explorers and queue a lot of waypoints to explore all the sectors it's a lot faster but sometimes they are stations beyond the border limit of the sector and they won't reveal them :/ you have to go there yourself

do you know if the AI allways puts stations near level 0 heigth? otherwise doing this with waypoints could be tricky

sometimes they are a little higher or lower but nothing crazy, I've never seen stations too far away to appear on the map when my ships explore but I often see station that are way beyond the border of the sector but not many

so the only way to find that hiding xenon station is patrol the whole sector with waypoints but then i still need to search on my own beyond and above the border to find it if the patrol didnt help?

yes or you just stay close to the gate and follow a xenon miner to the station

The explore function can be expanded in the behavior menu - where the list of active orders is placed.

instead of clicking the gate, trigger exploration at the center of the sector in the sector map.
I believe that the explore setting can be expanded out to cover most sectors entirely.

Also every sector has a different density of stations and an infinite total size. It is totally possible to explore beyond 25,000 km.

the explore command is very bad it's easier and a lot faster to explore with waypoints.

also like i mentioned earlier, i gues explore command only focus on unexplored parts of the sector, not searching already explored regions for new stations
I tend to find advanced satellites useful (though potentially expensive). Usually enemies don't destroy them unless you have certain mods that change the factions behaviour. I usually find a visual examination is best in some cases but if the Xenon keep plopping new stations in a sector then I find advanced satellite grids are one of the best ways to go. I've not had a case where they place their new stations anywhere too exotic. They're nearly always between or close to the area between gates.

that sounds like a good idea. i definately have no problems with money anymore. i even could produce those satelites myselve and i will place them all over that dammn sector until i find that stupid xenon station.. im really mad about this stupid thing..

If the sector is cleared out, sometimes Xenon station will still be popping in. Faction close-by will build a starter defense platform in the sector. You may need to supply it with materials if you want them to build it fast.

After the defense platform is built just destroy all the Xenon stations that pop in.

focus the sector in question(double click the sector in map) change to plot tab, see every station and gate in the sector.
