Be aware, unless the Station you want to get build has a Manager (at last a S/M Dock and the named Manager Assigned) your Ships will have to rely on their own Piloting/Morale Experience to find Trades.
But yeah that doesn't do much if there's no material available on the market...
Ohh and better explore those Argon (more likely HOP) sectors to find what you need
Argon atm have TONS of ships and materials..by tons i mean i have up to 30 fps in the map already :D.
Dock yard starts the building process now and my traders are going by themselfes to arg to buy ( two 5 star pilots)
Beyond that sometimes the AI is a bit short sighted and doesn't build factories to make factory building materials until they're out of the materials needed to make them. That or they build 130 stations at the same time and they're all fighting over the same tiny scraps of materials.
The gaps in the economy are there for you to fill them so set up a trading station or other trade route and shuttle hull parts from argon space to Teladi space and reap the profits.
