Ship Blueprints - is there only one way to get them ?

I remember from X3, i was able to get any ship blueprints by owning the ship and disassembling it in my shipyard. In X4 this seems no longer possible - or am i missing anything ?

In the vanilla game the only way to get a blueprint for ships and ship equipment is to purchase it from the faction vendors

No, buying is only one way to get blueprints.
You can also scan them if you researched the right technology.
Ah, you wrote ships... No, there the only way is buying.

Yes. And you need billions to buy ship BPs plus all their various engines and weapons etc. About a billion and a half just for one full set of one faction's BPs to make their X and XL ships.

Better off using https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/72 That is what I got, there is only a chance to get bps when chop shopping and you get mats when you "recycle" them so win win for me trying out pirating.
