Wtf? The A.I is still broken too hell.
So,

I've been commanding my cobra ship automatically too buy satellites from a station and the A.I can't seem too follow my orders, I'm on the landing deck too watch, and the A.I keeps' going on the same path, doing the same mistake, and cannot seem too figure out how to get too the correct jump gate.

Also,

my ship was unable to properly land at a dock and waited outside for 15 minutes hovering until I intervened.

Do you know about the order queue? When you give something an order it does it AFTER its done all the other orders its been given.

This has nothing to do with the origional post. A.I path finding is still broken in parts of the game.

huh? somebody said it was fixed? I read someplace that you have to transport out of the sector...however I never have experianced this AI problem.

I'll try and emulate it and make a video. I'm not bashing the game, just pains me that some minuet orders still make the A.I struggle.

I placed a buy order for the A.I too pick up 100 satellites from Wharf in TrinitySanctum VIII, and my A.I was confused and flew it towards Bright Promise then back too Trinity Sanctum III about a dozen times before I gave up.

That's because the "turn" it has to make takes it straight through the Jump Gate... The solution I have found is to make "dogleg" steps so that the ship will clear the gate first and then turn. Happens to me every time I forget about them:steamfacepalm:

Heh, amazing that is the result of a ship with to much mass.
Your Cobra can not decelerate fast enough and the momentum takes it through the gate.

There are a few more spots like this where ships with limited agility can end up in a permanent loop if you stay in the same sector.

It's like skating downhill you can't expect to make sudden rapid direction changes.

It's weird to see a medium ship messing up like that. Belteguesian has the best solution to this. I avoid AI controlled, large, civilian ships like the plague because of dumb AI. I learned my lesson on those after watching them get stuck on every jump gate with a highway in front of it.
