So it says press hold o, but it dosnt seem to work, do you need to install one?

Bumping it? Sounds like you are at a lockbox then, not a container, for lockboxes you need to care fully shoot off the red locks with out destroying the box.

Pretty much, You need solid storage for raw ore (which is on mining ships), liquid storage for gas (on gas mining ships) and container storage for all other ware, including the two actual liquid wares.

*insert here a rant about liquid storage not being for any liquids*

Actually now that I think about it, maybe liquid storage compresses the gasses....... *shrugs*

LOL, ty btw for beeing so understanding with a newby o7, so guess the only thing i can do is to fly half across the map to find a warf so i can trade my starter fighter in for a miner.
