Traders aren't trading between my stations
So I've got a station that produces food, energy cells, and medical supplies. The station one sector over needs these items (both belong to me) and the traders are running off to stations that are further away and that don't belong to me. Help?

I believe their is a box to restrict trade from other factions, that may cure your issue. I think they go by best price otherwise and dont understand its free technically from your stations. Their are price filters as well, but havent done much with stations other than building onto the 1 at traders start and HQ/

Seems for some reason the AI can sell lower than the player. Check to see if this is case.

Your Ai is kinda dumb and doesn’t know your station from AI station. Just what’s cheaper.

Yeah, I noticed that I can't drop it any lower either. Seem the game is very happy to ♥♥♥♥ us in our trade practies.

And now my miners aren't coming back to drop off their supplies when they're set to "Work for station"

jesus christ.

cant say i had the SAME problem but I had an L gas miner that wouldnt go sell the gas to the station in the SAME sector. i think i ordered it 5 times to sell the gas and then magically, by the grace of whatever it started working properly. idk maybe the pilot was busy having seizures

I'm kind of at a loss atm. Losing money because my traders aren't trading between stations and miners are just hanging out in the mines instead of returning with their payload is maddening. If I remove them from the station (Remove Assignment), there's not even a way to prioritize sales/need at player owned stations.

If your auto-miners are sitting in space with their storage full of mined materials, that usually means that noone asks for them and they only sell their full inventory at once, not parts of it. And if your stations aren't being supplied by your miners, look in their storage. They might be full or the full mass of materials doesn't fit.

Also I haven't tried having multiple stations suppying each other, because I put everything from the basic resource to the end pruduct in one station, but "trading" with your own stations to supply another seems kinda odd. It's all your money in the end, so there is no profit in those trades. You make the producs and buy them from yourself. Maybe traders only buy wares, that are made by someone else. Again, I haven't tried a supply-chain on multiple stations myself, just a thought.

I was running into a lot of lag with having a large station (Player HQ) with multiple modules, so I decided to branch out so I wouldn't send the game screeching to a hault when I went into the HQ system.

In regards to the miners- they were owned by the station (set them to mine for it exclusively), and the storage wasn't full- that was the first thing I looked for. They have the demand for it, as it's a silicon processing plant.

Mine did the same thing when i had multiple different productions at the same base. Once I made each station specialize in only one product it all started working.

That's what this current base I'm having issues is- just a silicon factory.

Honestly, I think letting the AI sell lower than the player is a good thing. It doesn't allow you to game the economy while still essentially breaking even, like you could in X3AP. Financial trickery now costs money.

Supply and demand! Take stations out and hoard supply! MUHAHAHA

That's exactly what you could do in X3AP. Then if you did it long enough, the game would delete competing NPC stations because they aren't moving goods fast enough. Then you have a monopoly. Do that to enough things, and suddenly there is no more NPC tech production, only a bunch of food loops. And the entire time, you'd be breaking even. Now, you're trading at a loss to force that.

If you want stations to trade between one another, limit those trade goods to other factions and set manual prices to lowest for sell stuff and highest for buying (it's all your money anyway). That way they will almost always go for your goods first. When there sitting around the "needs" for making a trade have not been met such as no storage, demand etc, a station is not going to buy a product if it has no use for it. Another thing to do is give BOTH stations some trade ships if you have not already, that way maybe the trade ship from the station with the wares will visit your station and sell the goods and vice versa.

As a side note i have noticed stations with only small storage sometimes have issues in my game moving goods such as engine parts as the AI seems to deem trading a few engine parts as ineffecient. The economy in the game just does not work unless stuff is getting blown up in wars constantly wich so far has not happened in my game (1.32). They do build more ships but the amount of supplies out there means within an hour everything is back to full storage and no demand again. There needs to be a constant drain on ALL rescources, not a big one but some sort of drain, say 5-10% on all storage loss per hr. Wars are just not doing enough to keep the economy from stagnating.

Miners wont "Sell" ore or resources to stations that do not have a budget to "buy" the resource, even though they are "selling" them for nothing. This is fixed in the 1.5 beta but is an issue if you are running the release version. L miners wont "sell" wares even if there is budget for it if they do not have cargo drones themselves, even if you have a dock for large ships.
