hex colors?
what do the colors of the hexes mean INSIDE of the sectors? some parts of a sector have red areas and purple areas ect. whats that about?

It means there are minerals/gas there. Check the legend in the map top right and it will break it down.

Red = Area with Minerals
Blue = Area with Gases
Purple = Area with both

A quick tip for you, DrwHem, on the map there is a button called Legends (with a pinned symbol on the top right corner) that allow you to see all of the objects' information.
