Within a ship it's fairly easy to move a crew member to pilot... promote to pilot. Across ships it's easiest if they're docked at the same location. If a captain doesn't currently exits you can move them from a ship directly to captain of the other ship. If one does you have to move them to marines or service crew first then promote to captain which does a swap. A free crew slot would need to be available first. This tends to make you fire someone you really didn't want to fire just to get a free slot.
You can also do this in space but then your dealing with pod transfers which takes time so I don't even bother.
They've also recently added a transfer crew option which is handy for bulk exchanges but again only shows overall skill level so you have to note names if you're looking for individuals with particular skills or models.
I haven't done that mission, those are way to difficult for me...lol.
I totally agree with you, some free slots maybe, where to put the crew on hold. We hope the developers read your XD message.
For the mission then I think it's a game bug, because the station that indicates me has no landing pad. What a stress! : D
Thank you WarCrime.
The developers envisioned another solution, they created helmet heads... firing is what they're good for or being martyred in a board pod... both work for me.
