Flak Turrets
I cant seem to find any information about them.. Been using them on my Ceberus's with the intend of being anti-smal craft turrets. Seeing as I still kinda early game, I havent been fighting big ships yet. My impression of Flak was they would be effective on small stuff as fighters but only so so on other larger ships (or even maybe bad?)

However I been watching Xenon fighters dancing around my flak turrets with ease. They dont seemed trouble by them like any other weapon (I've not used beam, but I think beam would be better anti-fighters now ?)

Anyway I dont want to think they are usless, since they not that great at small craft fighting, do they still do decent amount of damage to larger ships to compensate it ?

Whats peoples opinions on Flak turrets compared with the other turrets, I just cant find any offical stats to compare or talk about hem :/ If there was a tier system, how would they do ?

other than that, they look dam cool tho,

Turrets in general aren't that great on M ships unless you set them to attack your target where you'll be achieving some stability, otherwise you movement along with enemy movement and their rotation speed can present a real challenge for them to hit. Flak is area damage and will still probably have a better chance and up close can do wonders on capital turrets/engines. Argon's are more accurate with tracking, Split has higher damage.

The only place I use lasers is on scout collectors for lockboxes and a few M turrets on DP in hopes of hitting something trying to run past it with high speed... the flak turrets or missiles will be what kills them.

I find them very useful. I bought the blueprints for the Flak turrets, so I could put them on my stations defense modules.

Their one drawback however, is they can piss off friendlies pretty easily. I think in the next upcoming patch, 3.20, it will be harder to make friendlies turn hostile to you from accidental hits. So that should solve that issue with Flak turrets.

And by the way, the Argon are the only ones I have found which sells the Flak turrets.

Get a destroyer, put on split flak turrets with mod to increased proj. range and laugh.

Flaks are only really effective in large numbers, like in a Rattle or specially in a Raptor. Lasers have ♥♥♥♥ range and damage output, i don't feel they are very useful. They would, IF there was a blue and purple mod to increase their range, but there's only a green.

the Free Families have a more slightly powerful flak turret then the ARG one.

Split flak turrets do not rotate as fast (i.e. track targets) and their speed to target and range is worse. The damage improvement is slight for Split over Argon. I use Argon flak on my cap ships and they work quite well.
