game over for no reason

Hi, I just started young gun. Got my ship went with other to fight the enemy capital ship, got all turrets down, got all bombers down, helped to finish the capital ship off. Great explosion and all - and then game effing over? What did i miss? why would the game be over?

Do your ships receive damage if they are in close proximity to an exploding capital ship? I know sometimes I get the computer saying something along the lines of "danger, explosion imminent" when I am near an exploding cap ship.

My ship was intact after we finished the capital. I didn’t die.

There are also exploding asteroids, they’re a pain, and I’ve lost my ship when the destroyer I was trying to board rammed one and took use both out.

Chances are you got/were getting shot and you just didn't notice. It could have also been a missile, a mine, an exploding asteroid or the cap going up.

What you did wrong? You should have hired a pilot from the starting wharf and told him to fight the capital ship. Or just not fight it at all since there's no money in it. Just go crystal hunting and wait for the battle to finish then fly around scooping all the loot.
