Other keybinds:
"Holomap zoom in" and "Holomap zoom out" which is for the default mouse scroll down/num- keys to 'zoom out' of the map.
You definitely helped me. What I found works right now:
Opening Map, then zooming out will take 1.5 seconds to get the Sector View (the entire sector is visible and nothing else). Or it takes 0.5 seconds if you scroll down with two long & rapid scrolls.
Opening Map, then pressing "Zone View", then zooming in will take longer than scrolling to get Sector View as you can't interrupt the slow 'zoom out' animation after hitting "Zone View".
I was going to create a macro using AutoHotkey to simulate a Sector View, but I think it'll be a better experience to increase the scroll wheel speed on my mouse just when playing X4. Good find!
edit:
That's not going to work. The game reads the raw scroll wheel data, thus I would need to edit my driver.
I would like:
* to be able to choose my mouse scroll wheel speed
* to have the center of the map zoom in/out centered in the horizontal visible region of the map (the area not obstructed by the menu in the map)
* to have a new keybind added that is called "Visible View" and shows the area you have visible on the map, more than what is visible in the current "Sector View"
* to have Sector View to show the entire sector
* to have Sector View, Zone View, and "Visible View" to open the map in that view mode automatically, instead of having to open the map, hit Zone View and wait 0.5 seconds
