Is it possible to completely destroy a Xenon Shipyard? Do Xenon ships just spawn in?
I blew up every part of a xenon shipyard in a Matrix sector. After blowing up all components reducing hull to 0, they were already rebuilding with a 35 minute countdown.

Is it possible to completely wipe the shipyard off the map or is it invincible? Could park a ship or something but curious what others have done.

Also sometimes it seems like Xenon i and K come out of nowhere. Can they be built at warfs? Do they just spawn in?

I'm growing weary of the game because of all the constantly having to fly around and personally beat back xenon by hand. It's taking up nearly all of my in game time, no building or trading or etc. It's interesting that the Xenon are more threatening but I also miss the element in X3 AP of being able to just chill sometimes.

I appear to be slowly winning the war, as the factions are gaining power and occasionally winning battles against Xenon now but it's slow going.

You need to destroy all of the crates in the build storage and intercept the S ships showing up to try to refill it.

You might try targeting Xenon solar plants first. When you do that, the Xenon will respond by sending Power Distribution S from other corners of the galaxy. Not only are you weakening the channel that you are in, but also slowing down their industry elsewhere as they try to compensate.

How do you destroy the crates in the build storage? I blew up every different module they had. Did I miss something?

Your other advice seems sound, it's just finding the time to blow up stations while also defending everywhere from K and I, I think I need more destroyers but my income isn't as great as it could be since I havn't had time to optimize it with all this other crap going on. Currently have about 4 destroyers 10 trade ships and 10 miners.

Well, you have to find the build storage. Unless you get lucky and stumble upon it during your initial approach, you'll know where it is when S ships start showing up to put things in there to build the new modules.

Then fly to it. It will look exactly like your build storages. In the middle will be a bunch of crates. You can shoot them and their wares will eject into space. Blow them all up, and then part a Corvette or two there to intercept any S ships that show up and blow them up before they can unload.

That will stop them from being able to (re)build any new station components, allowing you to finally put the thing out of its misery.

Alternatively, you can just keep blowing up the under-construction modules, which also runs the build storage out of resources. The oval-shaped module that contains the M docks seems to be the first to be rebuilt, but if you watch the destroyed modules you can see that they take on a different texture when they are rebuilding. If you watch them for a few seconds, you can see tiny changes, like small bits are being added or removed from the wreckage. Seems to have about 20%-25% of the health of the completed module, so it will still take many shots to destroy, but this is how I've blown up both the Shipyard and Wharf in Matrix #9, as well a many Solar Power Plants in different sectors.

If you want to target the build storage, it should be located within just a few KM of the main structure. It is red and black & has some L ship docking prongs sticking off; looks the same for Xenon as it does for other factions.

Well, their solar plants have a single solar module and a single storage module, which each have very low hull points. You could just destroy the two of those, honestly before they could even launch most of their drones, and leave the nasty modules alone. Do that in a few places, and it would be a serious setback to the Xenon.

As for dealing with the Xenon on a strategic level, if you can hold a single gate for an hour, then you could begin building defense platforms right by the gates in vital border sectors.

Defense modules hold 8, 12 or 16 large turrets and for OOS combat firing arcs don't matter only raw firepower. Building a sentinel station with 3 fully armed defense modules is a lot less expensive than a single destroyer, and much better at standing up to Ks and Is.

Yeah I think you are right that building defense stations is definitely the move long term. I just need to get the current crisis under control. I can hold a single gate indefinitely if I am there in person. It's just that while I'm at one gate they send K ships to some other gate etc. And my teleport isn't long range enough yet to swap between ships in far off sectors.

Well thanks for the info, I guess the ultimate answer is that you can never destroy the whole station, just halt it's progress.

For the second part of the question do you guys think xenon K and i ships spawn in or do they have to have that shipyard to get created? I know at least some of them come from there because one was in progress when I blew it up. Perhaps there are 2 shipyards? but if so I havn't found the second one yet. There's definitely 2 warfs.

Thanks for the help.

I don't think they are being created out of thin air. They are being produced somewhere.

I am uncertain whether or not the encounter system can teleport capital ships. My hunch is that there is either another shipyard or they might have been on patrol somewhere out of sight initially.

Disagree; I've definitely destroyed both the Shipyard and the Wharf in one of my sectors, and it's completely stopped the invasion of the Teladi space (in fact, Teladi are now taking over that cluster of Xenon sectors), so this is definitely something you can achieve.

So there's no marker there, and it is completely empty space where the Shipyard was?

It will turn grey for an hour or two and then disappear entirely.
Philonious Rex May 2, 2020 @ 8:08pm
Oh I see, but if they are building a new module then it will just come back over time, so you need to wipe out the resources I guess that makes sense.

I've taken control of the Xenon sectors north of split territory. You can destroy the wharfs and shipyards. The Xenon stopped trying to rebuild once all of their stations there were gone.

Every faction has a build storage for construction, even you. Select the station and hit F3. Pan the camera around and you will eventually see a floating dock a little ways from the station. It's the build storage. The dock itself does not take damage, but any cargo containers can be shot. It drops the cargo into space. Prevents the station from building.

There's 4 shipyards/warfs in the game to my knowledge, you can find a published map for their locations. That's just the starting number however, they will build more so if you don't cull the herd here it's just going to get even worse. I'd focus on this over building defense platforms.

There's a chance however that some capitals sailed out into the void in their space and even with Shipyards/Warf's gone for sometime will suddenly show up making you think they were spawned. An I and 3 K's appeared in Company regards like this for me complete with a large fighter escort with not one but two defense platforms on either side of the gate at Hewa's Twin I & II. Those defense platforms are probably going to get turned into war museums now...lol.

Ok good info thanks guys, I'll see what I can wipe out with the resources at my disposal.
