AI is too sensitive with station damage
I had a mission next to an AI station and a Hive station was right next to it and I had to fight them next to the station which cause the station to attack me. It made my mission impossible to do and I reload multiple saves just cause my turrets would hit the station. At least make it till 99 or 98% that they attack me

Yeah right now the friendly fire hostility is way way way too sensitive. For me, a single shot from one of my turrets on a friendly that's +30 and was never hit before instantly turns them hostile.

That's why there is a button to disable / re-enable turrets.

And if someone "accidentally" shot your car, you would be pissed, too. But it's probably just that one station and they will get over it in a while. Just don't do it again... 8-}

But then turrets would be completely worthless every time any friendly target is nearby, not really a solution.

Friendly ships don't seem to be a problem, just stations. I try to lead the enemy away, or decoy them into hitting the station themselves.

I also tend to fight in ships that have forward guns, so I can turn off the turrets temporarily, or set them to missile defense.

I am not sure, but I think that educated crew to man the turrets helps, too. It is not visible much, but I think it effects AI action.
Ships are fine. They let you deplete a lot of thier shields before losing thier ♥♥♥♥ 😂. Stations are worse than my missus on her period

It's more than just stations. I'm sitting here gate camping the entrance to Xenon space and PAR brings in a fleet RIGHT on top of my position. Xenon comes in, everyone starts firing, and next thing I know I'm getting rep hits left and right. Now there's one less PAR fleet.

The entire PAR fleet gone and they took out.. 2 fighters and a defense drone. It's no wonder they haven't been able to hold back the Xenon here. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2076750220

In combat, there is collateral damage. We try to keep it at a minimum, but things happen, and allies need to understand this. Also, its not like we've damaged their station, only hit the shields.

Its friggin ridiculous.

Yeah, yeah, they all say that. And then they shoot up another on my stations.

Get off my lawn, kid... 8-)

i fixed the issue by never using a ship with turrets near a station i didn't want hostile.
edit: alternatively, oos combat never seems to cause the problem, but maybe i am just lucky.

OOS there seems to be no friendly fire, also accuracy seems to be much better.

I find that destroyers that usually take a while to kill small ships can get them easily OOS, also collision is off so.

Further turning turrets on and off is a thing for M class ships, but I don't think the button is so readily available on Destroyers. In X3 you could comm ships and apologize for friendly fire which was nice.

I'm surprised there isn't a mod for the friendly fire... or is there?

Its frankly baffling that Egosoft didnt think about fixing this problem that has existed since ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ X Beyond the Frontier....

A function that has been in that long, is probably a "feature" not a bug. ;-)

And, there was discussion about 10 years ago about players getting incautious around friends, if there was no friendly-fire...

They don't do "invisible walls", here, but that doesn't mean they don't do anything about such stuff.

Had something funny happen, as I was on a kill turret mission the near by base took it personally and reported me to sector sec.
Sector sec. replied NO.
