Trading Station unable to be destroyed by Xenon
During my very first in-depth delve into an X4 playthough, after more than a day in real time, I began to notice the first instances of full on sectors transferring between factions when the Xenon began to push into Teladi territory. But during that push, I began to notice that the Xenon hit a roadblock in the form of a Teladi trading station. They attacked the station for hours, and for all intents and purposes practically won, but despite bringing the station down to 0% hull, the station would not die. For several more hours, they were attacking the healthless station, but couldn't truly destroy it. The station was positioned in such a way, that Xenon entering the sector would quickly aggro on it, causing a large Xenon fleet to form on top of it, while preventing Xenon from moving to other sectors.

Ultimately, what I am trying to figure out is the possible cause of this. If there is a particular way a trading station must be destroyed, that the Xenon can't do. If only the player or player owned ships can truly destroy a station. Or is this is just a straight up bug. Or some other reason.

Basically the station resets alot of the destroyed modules back to an "under construction" status about every 8-20min (depending on how much wares are stockpiled in their build storage I think)... The problem is that capital ship turrets from K & I seem to ignore these modules so the capitals will just fly around nearby not actually shooting the station.

When this issue occurs you pretty much have to wait for the fighters (which do still target these modules) to blow them all up before the rebuild task reinitializes again. This can take a while if the Xenon don't have alot of fighters in the area.

I think my longest was stalled for about 4 RL days before they finally managed it... and then the horde of capital ships picked other targets & started steamrolling territory lol

Alternativly, you can blow the fleet away & let the station rebuild to full again. Then see if they have better luck on their next invasion attempt.

EDIT: If you have some info on the station (do a high speed flyby) then you can expand the module list in the Map > Object List > Station > Various module + signs... this will show you a timer on when it resets the modules.

Eventually, the Xenon will destroy all remaining Teladi stations in Ianimus Zura. At that point, as long as they prevent any resupply from outside of the sector, the Trading station (sector admin) will indeed die.
At least that's what I observed, while I was waiting to kick the Xenon out and claim the sector for myself ;)
The same goes for the Xenon defence stations that they built. Once I destroyed them and prevented resupply, the stations die.

Oh right. I forgot there were multiple TEL trading stations with nearby Xenon. This is the Hewa's Twin I sector. Though it is good to know this isn't just a bug. Though if the trading station does need to die last, it will still halt the Xenon advance, because the husk of the station will still keep drawing aggro due to being the first thing the Xenon see when entering through the superhighway, which is the only entrance.

After a while of actually examining the fight through the station's external view, I managed to figure out the issue, I think. The fighters seem to have a particularly hard time shooting certain modules on a Teladi trading station. AI fighters seem to be compelled to shoot modules at their projected center, and because of the ring-like style of the station, certain modules do not have anything that can by physically hit at their projected center, so the fighters shoot at nothing and those modules can only be destroyed by stray shots or player intervention (If you want to help a bunch of murderbots and they don't murder you while you try and help them)

It's a shame that even with 10 K capital ships, the Xenon can't put an end to a scalie convention. They aren't that threatening for a bunch of endlessly replicating genocidal machines.

Same happened to the Hewa Trading Station in my game. I took the opportunity to take out the Xenon I once it moved away from it's support. Took the remaining 4 k's and swarm of fighters a few more days of gameplay to finish it. I even emptied the connected Xenon ship production sector of combat ships in that time.

Now the Paranid are trying to claim the Hewa sector after the xenon died in Trinity Sanctum.

I have the same problem. Developers, please fix this. Teladi station thwarted the entire military process. In addition, it seems to me that many military stations are too strong, and to destroy them requires a fleet of such a size that the game engine cannot pull out. Because of this, all the battles for the station are turning into pain and suffering. Please fix.
