Better way to identify stations in a Sector?
So i have been flying to all the ? in every sector to find out what they are, but there has got to be a better way to do that right? Can i buy a map at the first station, or just buy the info from them? I would assume one station in a sector is going to know what other stations are nearby...

buy a fast scout ship and give it one "explore" command in the middle of the sector.
after a while it will explore all things in the marked bubble

You can buy a scout with mk2 long range scan, go to the center of the sector, use long range scan on different directions. You will get white question marks, then you can manually explore or send your npc pilot point-by-point and do other stuff. Info works for Representative offices, wharfs and other big things.

Yeah, if you just long range scan with the improved scanning range, then what I do is command my nearest scout to visit each question mark+drop a sattelite there.

(if you're exploring without dropping satellites you're literally wasting your time, you'll just have to send someone to every single one of those spots again)

To my mind, this is as easy as it gets. Also, you can just watch which way trader traffic is going/coming from and head in the same directions.

Or if you are truly soulless and the sort of person who really should have just burnt their money rather than buy the game, you could always grab an autotrade mod and enable the "know all trades" option for those you set as autotraders. You can even give them the ability to instantly jump from one station to another.

In a day or so they should probably uncover most of the stations on the map for you.

Given the true point of the game is to establish effective trading, and one of the primary obstacles to that is gaining sufficient knowledge of the economy so that you're able to make the most intelligent decisions... you may as well not play the game at all, though, if you're just going to have an AI script written by someone else do all of your trading for you.

Bur hey, you deserve to know it exists :p

Lol, i dont think i want to make it that easy! i was just thinking along the lines of buying the info at the traders station for that sector, or being able to buy a map from a faction that unlocks whats in their territory (once you get high enough level with them).
